Tech-nick Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Stunning... Add the side mirror to the drivers side, ---> Perfect. Quote
cgg199 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 (edited) I like how, unlike most cars, it doesn't stop when changing gear. Great clutch system. Could you put the video in the OP? Edited May 8, 2013 by cgg199 Quote
cgg199 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Original Post. I'm stupid anyway, you already did lol. Quote
Kronos Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Great job on the car and video. The shots from inside the car are awesome! Are instructions/LDD file to follow? Quote

Doc_Brown Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 (edited) When I saw you had the video up I yelled "YES!!!" Great model, truly awesome! Nice video and setting too. And a legend to share your techniques too. well done and thanks. What camera did you use to get the wide angles? Edited May 9, 2013 by Doc_Brown Quote
GuiliuG Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Completly stunning. It just give me the envy to build something like this during my approaching hollidays :p And I surely wait impatiently the building instructions. You should be front-paged for this model in my opinion ;-) Quote
Milan Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Excellent model. Both look and function. Also, sharing your instructions is a true LEGO way. Congrats for that. Quote
Meatman Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 (edited) Also, sharing your instructions is a true LEGO way. Congrats for that. According to who? You? Edited May 9, 2013 by Meatman Quote
Gabor Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Great creation! It's absolutely recognisable! And the film is fantastic, too! Quote
cgg199 Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 According to who? You? A very large number of people. Quote
Meatman Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 (edited) A very large number of people. I assume that you mean the large number of people who just expect builders to go out their way and give the casual/novice builders something for nothing? It is sad that this is how the world thinks, but unfortunately that is the harsh reality. The majority of the top builders that post online pictures provide more than adequate information on how to replicate their models from their photos and do not need to even bother with instructions. When they go out of their way to create instructions, that is just a bonus and the casual/novice builders should be thrilled. I am one of those novice builders and paying a few dollars for instructions is the least that I can do to show my appreciation to the high profile builders in this world that keeps me motivated. When builders like Sheepo, Industrial Designer, Jurgen, and Blakbird(for crow's models) spend months on end developing and optimizing a new concept or model and then get bombarded with requests for instructions, why should they spend all of their free time doing instructions when they could be working on their next project? Where is the motivation in that? And you think these guys should spend 100's of hours creating instructions and then give them for free. There is also a big difference between spending months developing a model and spending a few weeks and then repeatedly boasting how you will give instructions away for free. I applaud piterx for his way of thinking and this a rather good model, but by repeatedly talking about how he will give instructions away for free seems to me like a poke at some of the top builders out there and I mean this in no offensive way as this model is far better than anything that I could ever do, but this is not quite on the same level of the top guys out there who are in fact charging a few dollars for instructions. rocklego Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 All the pain was worth. I am impressed with braking system. Quote
07jkearney Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Maybe Piterx could provide a PayPal address for donations? I personally would be happy to give money for such an excellent model's plans. Quote
Meatman Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 I would also gladly donate money to him for his work as I do everyone else who painstakingly goes through the process of provided building instructions. Quote
piterx Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 ... but this is not quite on the same level of the top guys out there who are in fact charging a few dollars for instructions. that's one of the reason why i dont wanna get payed for instructions by the way, im making instructions for me because i wanna keep note of what i've done as it's my first complex model.... and maybe one day i wanna rebuild it and i think there's nothing wrong in saying "ill give them for free", you read the posts when i was building it so you already knew it, but maybe someone who only read this thread doesnt know it..... so if he's interested he'll keep an eye on this topic for instructions to be released. i don't give a damn about wasting some time in making instructions because im a 3d designer and i find this kind of things funny....and as im not an inventor i don't wanna get payed to share my "knowledge" knowledge is free and money can't buy the happiness that all these nice comments give me. there's nothing wrong in sharing things whitout expecting anything but some thankfulness and if i get money from playing with legos it means that it's kind of a job, and a job is boring Quote
DLuders Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 @ piterx: Thanks for sharing -- you're a good man. Quote
cgg199 Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 (edited) I assumed you meant, that it was the way that LEGO themselves do it, offering free online instructions, not these fantastic builders, so, comparing Piterx to LEGO, for doing the same thing. If i get money from playing with legos it means that it's kind of a job, and a job is boring They do always say, don't mix pleasure with work Edited May 9, 2013 by cgg199 Quote
legomuppet9 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 If I made instructions I wouldn't ask for money, they wouldn't have cost me anything to make so I don't see why I should get anything in return, share them for free is the way to go in my opinion... Quote
piterx Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 as i promised i started making instructions :) i think it's gonna take a while...probably a week anyone knows where i can find the newer wishbones? those who can host the cv joints... i dont have them Quote
