LeocornoProductions Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 but you can have a car that looks great but doesn't work, the jaguar e-type looks amazing but will barely last for 5 minutes. Whats wrong with the looks anyways? Quote
therealjustin Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 (edited) I am looking to build my first "supercar" MOC but choosing one is not easy. I have about $200 set aside for extra parts. Madoca's Off Road Pickup Paul's 911 GT3 jorgeopesi's F40 Or, I can continue waiting for the 76023 Tumbler to come back in stock Edited November 18, 2014 by therealjustin Quote
LeocornoProductions Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I would reccomend, some of crowkillers mocs, but jurgens mocs are also great value as well Quote

For $200 you are going to need to stick to one that is not motorized. Any of Crowkillers' models would be good candidates, or Jurgen's Sunbeam. Quote

Any of Crowkillers' models would be good candidates, or Jurgen's Sunbeam. I should have clarified that I have parts from 9398 and 8070 to work with. The $200 is for the extra bits My choice would be the F40 if only for the scale, but even with all of the LXF files combined it does not seem like everything is there. Plus, those 14L flex axles are stupidly expensive. Quote
kamsohal Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 try crowkillers lamborghini gallardo or murceilago to start off with. Quote
Jim Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 I am contemplating on building Bruno's Ferrari 458 Spider. That will be my first non-official Super Car build. http://youtu.be/gIFQpC4SGi0 It looks awesome in Black... But I will probably go for classic Ferrari red Quote
Kumbbl Posted November 19, 2014 Author Posted November 19, 2014 Yes, awesome Car. At starting Time of this thread ist didn't exist.... But Jim: i thought i had read somewhere a postimg of you where you are praising Kuipers Concept Car ( and justifiably so)? Am i wrong? Quote
Blakbird Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 I am contemplating on building Bruno's Ferrari 458 Spider. That will be my first non-official Super Car build. You won't regret it. This car does not have a complicated gearbox, but it's driving performance is excellent. It was very popular with the crowd at BrickCon. Quote
jantjeuh Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 I still have to build that Ferrari in black with 'leather' (read: tan) upholstery. I have all the parts needed, just need the time ... Quote
jorgeopesi Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 I build my car to my taste not with affordable pieces, I know it's my fault I think they are not easy to do. Here's the F40 of Polo-Freak if it's any help, I like it more than mine with grey rims and it hasn´t got the roof frames yet. Quote
Polo-Freak Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Yeah, with many Thanks to jorgeopesi, here the Final Version with Window Frame Quote
Jim Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 The F40 does look awesome too! You won't regret it. This car does not have a complicated gearbox, but it's driving performance is excellent. It was very popular with the crowd at BrickCon. I bet it was I don't mind that the gearbox isn't complicated. For me, it's one of the best looking supercars, and the retractable/folding roof is spectacular. I will place some orders for the PF lights and extra Battery box and then I'm probably good to go! I still have to build that Ferrari in black with 'leather' (read: tan) upholstery. I have all the parts needed, just need the time ... Sweet, do it! We can arrange a photo shoot @Blakbird The last picture I linked is the version you've built? I do like the entire black upholstery! Did you use custom stickers? I own the Enzo and 599, but I didn't apply the stickers (just one of them if I remember correctly). When my SBricks arrive, I will replace the IR receivers to control it via my mobile phone Quote
Duky Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Wow, great looking ferrari. A Partlist would be cool. Quote
Jim Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 I have purchased instructions for the 458. Looking at Rebrickable, I just need a couple of common parts and additional PF Lights and Battery Box Quote
kamsohal Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 ive made the 458 from bruno in red and black its fantastic to look at and enjoyed making it.someone should do the lamborghini aventador. Quote
jantjeuh Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 (edited) Wow, great looking ferrari. A Partlist would be cool. Do you mean the F40 or the F458? The parts list for the F458 is on Rebrickable: http://rebrickable.c...ojj1/red-spider I don't think the F40 has instructions (yet). I have purchased instructions for the 458. Looking at Rebrickable, I just need a couple of common parts and additional PF Lights and Battery Box I ordered my PF lights in bulk from the LEGO Shop, was cheapest by far. Not going for 2 x rechargeable LiPo (or is that what you mean by battery box)? I bought another one just for this MOC But then it turned out sheo's Terex, Madoca's Tatra also require two. Duky Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 i mean the Ferarri F40. i would like to have a part list. The LDD Instructions are available at jorges brickshelf page. Looks easy to follow. Quote

I bought another one just for this MOC But then it turned out sheo's Terex, Madoca's Tatra and Lucio's (upcoming) Tractor Truck also require two. Sorry, I meant rechargeable LiPo. I own one, so I need to order another one. They are quite expensive, but it's convenient to have more of 'em. How much did you pay for the PF Lights? Quote
Polo-Freak Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 In German Lego Online Shop: 8870 LEGO® Power Functions LED-Lichter Preis 7,49 € Quote
Jim Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Looking at the Bricklink prices, it's indeed best to order them at LEGO directly. The rechargeable battery box saves me a lot of money too http://shop.lego.com/en-NL/LEGO-Power-Functions-Rechargeable-Battery-Box-8878?fromListing=listing Quote
jantjeuh Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 (edited) Yeah, for PF elements the Lego Shop is often much cheaper than BrickLink. Very low shipping costs, too. Whenever I order parts in bulk (or large parts that require a package), I first check the LEGO Shop/Lego PAB prices before ordering from BrickLink. I can really recommend having 2 x LiPo, more and more big MOCs are starting to use them instead of regular battery boxes. Edited November 20, 2014 by jantjeuh Quote
Jim Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Just placed an order for the PF parts. 100 euros for everything, including two PF cables. Thanks for the advice :thumbub: (I tend to go to Bricklink too quickly, because I'm a bit impatient sometimes) Quote

Yes, but normally One should do the Job very well. Most of the MOCs install them so ist can be easily pulled out e.g. For recharging or for using for another model. You can only drive One MOC at the time ;-) And Brunos Ferrari is together with the huge terrex mining excavator from sheo the only model which needs two of them... At least AFAIK... Indeed:at least for PF the Lego Shop is much cheapier than bricklink.... I always buy PF at Lego Quote

Also, there are some excellent upcoming MOCs that also require 2 of them, but I can't spill any beans yet Yes, but normally One should do the Job very well Well, if you don't really care about reaching 100% performance you can always use one indeed Edited November 20, 2014 by jantjeuh Quote
