clarkdef Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I just got my RC unit that belongs to one of the RC racer cars, this unit has a servo but it seems to only turn 45 degrees left and right, this isn't enough to really point my wheels hard enough for steering, either it's broken or the RC racer cars don't steer very well? If that is the way it is susposed to be then it will not do, I noticed that the box has a grey output I tried hooking another motor upto it, but nothing? My guess is this is also for other steering options but this must actually be broken as nothing spins on it. Also the transmitter has two paddels on the rear what are the point of those? Quote
Kierna Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I hear that is all the sttering rotation they have. They are designed to work with a steering box that converts the rotation to a steering rack. Out of curiosity, how many steering positions does it have? Quote

I think the first two would be pretty hopeless, the lego gears would need that just to workout the slack. I learnt what the paddles do lol they control the grey output, so could use that as steering output with another motor :). I built a little car and it's pretty fast must do 20kph! Quote
