UrbanErwin Posted February 16, 2013 Author Posted February 16, 2013 A quick WIP Picture Now that is looking nice. Id love to be able to see this in person. I don't have plans to move to the USA neither do I have plans to bring this layout to a convention there. (money and time) It will stay in The Netherlands for while, perhaps Germany, Belgium and the UK one day. BTW: I'm taking this layout on februari 24th to a modeling exhibition in Goes [Dutch link], I will take some pictures there. Quote
Spitfire2865 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I wouldnt expect you to lug this to the USA. But yes Id love some good pictures of the entire thing. Quote

Spitfire2865 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Not a big fan of that stone wall. Just looks a bit weak. Could do with a bit more thickness IMO. Sorta like what you did with the top wall. Quote

Sorta like what you did with the top wall. What do you mean with weak, in meanings of strong or in appearance. Edit: I improved the wall and the chapel, better pictures within a day Edited February 20, 2013 by UrbanErwin Quote
UrbanErwin Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 (edited) Edit: I improved the wall and the chapel, better pictures within a day My days are short The mailman came early today. More photo's in my photostream Photo's of the complete layout after this weekend Edited February 20, 2013 by UrbanErwin Quote
Spitfire2865 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Although the wall has very little modification, it looks a lot better now with the reinforcements. But whats with that tower ruins? Haha interesting. Quote
UrbanErwin Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 (edited) It are the remainings of an old castle. Wait.... the old inhabitants came to live... It hink I have to run. Just thinking: Perhaps a mini zombie skelleton apoclypse there Edited February 20, 2013 by UrbanErwin Quote
Lazarus Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 (edited) I think once its with the set you wont really notice the wall. And from the looks of the detail he not going for a real world look so it dont need to look like it can hold all that hill back and a big train. I like the idea of having the 2nd level i would like to do something like that with mine but my trains are to long and will have issue pulling stuff up inclines. the key thing i did like was the little church up the top and like the way you did the hill. I was wanting to ask or see how you constructed the hill. And dam you have a lot of green bricks :-) Edited February 20, 2013 by Lazarus Quote
The Player Nº1 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Can't wait to see the complete layout! Quote

I've made an compromise between affordable and realistic and purist. I was wanting to ask or see how you constructed the hill. Far too much 2X4 brick in random colours ( between 1000 and 3000 as filling) And dam you have a lot of green bricks :-) Once I had a bargain: 59 32X32 basplates in green for €3,75 each. (normal starting at €5,95) Can't wait to see the complete layout! After sunday I'll have some pictures Edited February 21, 2013 by UrbanErwin Quote
Spitfire2865 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Ahh the colours! It burns. XD At least we wont see em. Very nice hills for lego though. Quote
Spitfire2865 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Very nice. So Im guessing youll build another module now? I say link up the top layer to the layout. Im curious how you will deal with the incline. Quote
UrbanErwin Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 \ My new working spot (thank you IKEA) with on the back, a new module I will photograph soon Quote
Spitfire2865 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Looking nice! And I see a monorail too! Quote
Werlu Ulcur Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 That looks fantastic! Using green plates for grass makes a HUGE difference in the overall aspect of the diorama IMO. Quote
alainneke Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Looking good! Any plans for the monorail? I'm curious how you are going to integrate it into the layout without it being totally out-of-place Quote

UrbanErwin Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 (edited) I need input: Ugly or not (monorail track) if so how to improve. And a WIP of the newest module: still missing some ballast and monorail track Don't fear saying it is ugly or so I asked for opinions. Edited March 17, 2013 by UrbanErwin Quote
Werlu Ulcur Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Well, it looks "like a "static" diorama, like if you took out a section of a much bigger scene. Quote
