Montage Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I have recently built a 6x6 Tatra 810. The body and everything is very robust and durable, the only problem I have is a 12 tooth gear is constantly backlashing whenver its under heavy stress. Its reinforced pretty well but the strain from the XL motor is really shredding it up whenever I face a very challenging obstacle. So my question is, Is it possible to have too much torque? The gear ratio for the drive line is 1:9. Quote
Zerobricks Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Depends. Is the 12 tooth gear at the start of the gear train, or at the end, where there is motr torque? Pictures would be good too. Quote

Yes, I may have to put some up shortly so every one can see. And its at the start of the drivetrain connected straight to the XL motor so I would assume that it has the most torque applied to it. SNIPE Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 (edited) when i built the 8448 and added a v14 engine and 4 pull back motors and 1 electric motor i smashed a lot of gears in the diff, and the car kept on crumbling so yes you can have too much torque Edited April 3, 2011 by SNIPE Quote
