Hi there,

as you can see I'm new here and I revived my lego-fascination only a few month ago, too.

After I came across Sariels great RC controlled vehicles I tried some simple building.

Sadly I was not able to build a good suspension nor a driven steering, which both should be in a 4x4 car.

I own the following sets : 8258 / 8297 + some axles, toothgears, etc. I also got 2 XL and 2 M engines with batteryboxes, IR receivers and 2 controllers.

I searched the internet over and over again, only to not find anything that would have helped me with building a lego technic trial truck or an 4x4 car.

Sure, there were several guides but none of them helped me out because they were either too technical or confusing :(

So my question are :

- Are there any beginners guides?

- Are there tutorials online?

Greetings

maybe you can try this:

http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=50039

normally it is for my 8x8, i mean the axles, but it is possible to build a 4x4 from it, i already did this.

and then i have this: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=456055

it is a very strong and reliable 4x4, front axle is inspired by nico 71, but heavelly modified, as the original design had noisy gears.

there are a lot of photo's from the 4x4, i made them for just this, people who need a good frame, and want to make the cabin etc. themself.

the 4x4 uses a low partcount.

if u need instructions on the front axle, i can always help.

regards
