Zerobricks Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I wanted to try a 3x3 concept, which would allow me to ditch suspension and make the model less complex. I used an XL motor for each side drive, and a differential to power the rear wheel. When you go forward all 3 wheels are powered. When one side wheel stops, the rear wheel spins at half a speed. Weight was mostly at the front axle, which helped model cimb up stairs very good, but made it flip going downhill. Also it tends to break 12 tooth gears when you stall it manually, but otherwise works normally when driving uphill or over obstacles. It was a good experiment, but I am not gonna develop it any forward, because of lack of stability. Quote
Noworries Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Poor little gears ... devastated ... they never stood a chance Quote
DLuders Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Maybe you could make it into one of those BRP Can-Am Spyder motorcycles: Quote
DLuders Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Coney/ Contech7 made the Can-Am Spyder! Read all about it on TechnicBRICKS: Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Contech7 deserves his own thread on this model. Quote
