Ngoc Nguyen Posted June 17 Posted June 17 (edited) The most recent Technic Material Handler (42144) has always struck me as a bit odd. For some reason it's red. Material handlers are usually blue, yellow, or green. Now that there's a set in lime with pneumatics and a turntable, why not make a color-correct one FUNCTIONS The chassis is based on that of the set 42053. A blade in the front and two outriggers in the back. Because there are liftarms that move the blade in the front, I had to restrict the steering angle. There's not enough part to make an orange peel grapple, so I went with the basic one instead. Here's how it look with all support legs deployed and the cabin lifted. Paul B Technic Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Very nice. You need to stop making these alternative models, as I now need to buy 3 more copies of 42242 to build all of them :) Quote

Jundis Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Nice one again! Especially the locking mechanism for the rear outriggers are cool. Impressive also how you managed to get kind of clean colour for cab, main structure and boom :-) Quote
gyenesvi Posted June 18 Posted June 18 You're really fast with these cool little alternatives! Although, the scale is your area of expertise :) 9 hours ago, Paul B Technic said: Very nice. Well I could but I like the Unimog and am using that as a base for a bunch of mods. I was pretty set on buying another copy to do the loader but the other two are now also ones I want to build. If I buy instructions for an alt, I don't normally pull them apart l. Quote

That is indeed the hardest part. The colors in this set are all over the place. 4 hours ago, gyenesvi said: You're really fast with these cool little alternatives!
