Murdoch17 Posted Thursday at 09:31 PM Posted Thursday at 09:31 PM (edited) Late last year I bought LEGO Harry Potter set 76452 - Quality Quidditch Supplies & Ice Cream Parlor. I decided to turn the larger model into an antique store, complete with a new back half to the building and by tweaking the color scheme a bit in places. (like dark red becoming regular red) That antique shop version ended up not working out due to lack of space inside, so it became a haberdashery (that's a fancy word for hat shop) instead as it required less floorspace in the building for the items for sale. I recently got the model finished in the real world which you see above with the minifigure shopkeeper out in front of his store. The rear of the building. Here's view of the inside of the shop, with all kinds of hats for sale on display. As you can see, the shop folds open for getting at the interior details. This is the first of (at least) three models I made / am making based on Diagon Alley shop sets. The others currently in the process of parts-finding are a tailor made from Madam Malkin's robe shop in set 76439, and a LEGO store made from Weasley Wizard Wheezes in set 76422. (I'm still debating what to make with the brand-new Borgin & Burkes shop in set 76471, but I will probably think of something cool to do with it!) As it stands right now, the tailor is probably going to be the next building built, so keep your eyes open for its own topic when that happens! Thoughts? Edited 9 hours ago by Murdoch17 Quote
Murdoch17 Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago Here's the other two Diagon Alley inspired buildings I've made (digital only so far): The haberdashery (fancy name for a hat shop) on left is inspired by the Quality Quidditch Supplies building from 2025 set 76452, but with an added opening back half and an inside staircase. (This one has recently been finished in the real world, as you might have guessed from reading this very thread! ) The flagship LEGO store in the center is inspired by Weasley Wizard Wheezes from 2023 set 76422. It now has a back, a roof, and an opening wall segment. It has also been heavily modified with a new white / yellow color scheme. (This building is going to be the third in line to be built, and is missing a single part that isn't very common... yet.) Finally, the tailor on the right is modified from Madam Malkin's Robes in 2024 set 76439. It has been moderately modified and features a new back half and was originally designed at my brother's request for his town. (This shop will be the next to be built, as it has the most pats found and is the cheapest of the remaining models.) As for future plans beyond these three shops, I'm debating what to do with the brand-new Borgin & Burkes store in set 76471. Maybe I'll turn it into a restaurant or bar? It's honestly still up in the air... Thoughts? Quote
