Maaboo the Witch Posted August 2 Posted August 2 25 minutes ago, shroomzofdoom said: I was so excited for these sets until I realized it was more blind box BS. Blind packs are NOT for kids. That's a lie. It's to make extra MONEY and it's a very crummy thing to do. It's for ages 7+, the average child consumer in that age group is smart enough to be driven to 'gotta collect them all' or to want a specific model. Further, it benefits scalpers who have literally cleared every single unit within 50 miles of my rural home. I would happily pay a premium price for all sets as long as it's not to a scumbag scalper. So my choices are to waste time (driving, shopping, scanning) or waste money (playing the 'Lego Lottery' or to scumbag scalper). Lego found a way to take something enjoyable and make it painful. Way to go. More money for their competition IMHO. I've almost exclusively purchased knock offs for the past year and the hobby is actually MORE enjoyable. Go $@#&!! yerself all the way home TLG. Damn, I wish Eurobricks had a "like comment" option. Quote
R0Sch Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Only the Australian boxes, for some reason, are missing the scannable DMC on the boxes. For the rest of the world these are not "blind" boxes. And believe me these will not be scalped because they cost more than polybags with more pcs. Maaboo the Witch Posted August 7 Posted August 7 According to Sariel, orders of these things online is limited to three per customer. As for me, I don't even want one, so whatever. Quote
mahjqa Posted August 7 Posted August 7 I got a couple for the new parts. They're neat. I'm wondering about the "series 1" printing, though. Now that the obvious models are out of the way, where could they go? Maybe farming machines would work, but fire or police vehicles won't be as entertaining, functionality-wise. Quote
