[MOC] Bascule Bridge

A little something I threw together, a bascule bridge over a river.

Control room

Being an old bridge, it often needs repairs - hence the scaffold and the builder with his workboat

Bridge opened - operated by a Powered Up motor in the base of the tower

I'm not sure that was "thrown together" but anyway it is a brilliant little vignette and it looks like it actually works as well. Well conceived and executed.

Very nice work @FGMatt! It's not very often you see a MOC of this type of bridge, and you did a fantastic job with it!

It reminds me of this bridge (in Northern Germany), I crossed many times: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lindaunis_Bridge (the German Wikipedia entry has more pictures).

Throw together, huh?  I'd say masterfully designed!

Completely by coincidence there, but it's certainly similar. The mixed traffic is very interesting, I might redesign the bridge some day for that.

That's a great MOC you have there, lots of technical details to make it all work and yet such a smooth outward presentation. I like how you worked the little walkway to the control room in. Little details like that help; it pop

Beautiful bridge and delightful architectural design!

I really like the control room with the suspended access walkway.

There's something that makes this diorama particularly bucolic and relaxing.
