Murdoch17 Posted April 16 Posted April 16 (edited) This late-1860's wood burning-style 4-4-0 steam locomotive model is modeled after the engine in LEGO set 7597 (Western Train Chase) from the Toy Story 3 line. I made the tender based on ideas in my head, and added working pistons and a swiveling front bogie truck to the engine. The four green coaches are also styled after the one in 7597 (Western Train Chase) but with cues from My Own Train set 10015 (Passenger Wagon) in several places. The whole train rounding a curve. The front of the engine. The rear of the loco. The four brand-new passenger cars are all identical except for the last one (the car closest to the camera) as it carries the train's rear marker lights. NOTE: Unlike the original sets this is based on, the cars have no interior details and the roof sections are not designed to be removable. Edited April 16 by Murdoch17 Quote

Toxic43 Posted Tuesday at 03:18 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:18 PM This is a great evolution of the Toy Story train set. You inspired me in the past with adding cylinders and rods to mine and I have included a version of your tender here in my version. The whole train looks great. The pilot mounted on the frame, where it should be, is excellent. I have done the same thing. The whole consist just works together in that colour scheme. Nice work. Quote

I would love to see them! I do, I just took these for you. https://ibb.co/album/212H5M The whole train has been re done. As well as the Loco and Tender there's the Bank Car, which is powered by 2 medium PF motors and some very tight clearances to get the wheel arrangement to work, 2 Passenger Cars with full interiors and the Caboose, which does have a stove but little else inside. The printed tiles on the outside of the Passenger Cars and Caboose never sat right with me being stuck on the outside, so I integrated them so now the sides are smooth. I was trying for an expert version of the same train, basically. If the part count wasn't a consideration and Lego had the chance to go nuts with it, so to speak. Quote
