Sinistereo Posted March 18 Posted March 18 okay after that BND trailer, I can definitely see us getting some awesome figures for this movie. I'm thinking Punisher comes in the prisoner transport set, the build could either be his van or the tank Quote

thebricksbear Posted March 18 Posted March 18 So the prisoner transport likely has the 'big bad' in it based on the trailer. I won't say the name but I personally still don't think it's the character reddit is dead set on, the depiction of those powers in the trailer don't look AT ALL like that person's, and it'd be hard to come back from that IMO. Hopefully that still means Punisher and Scorpion in the transport set, but for $60 I'm not expecting anything else besides Spidey and the villain. Remembering we have a $50 set on shelves with nothing but Spot and two Gwen/Miles reprints. I'm willing to bet the Spidey vs Hulk set is just another modular building and probably has nothing but Spidey and Hulk. Quote
BoyLego Posted March 18 Posted March 18 That Scorpion tail looks very different to the leaked promo art we’ve been seeing. I wonder if that’s an iteration thing or if the leaks were fake? Hoping it’s the version Lego adapt as I don’t really like the gappy design we’ve seen previously. Quote

I'd keep an eye on it if you're looking to buy as last I saw it was on backorder. Likely resellers stocking up for the retirement. 48 minutes ago, BoyLego said: That Scorpion tail looks very different to the leaked promo art we’ve been seeing. My impression was that the trailer just changed perspective, and it looks not as bad as I thought. I don't think the leaks were fake since they were the generic slop merch you'll see at Target, etc... Quote

This marks the third time he appeared in a Spidey project recently, so he‘s definitely overdue I‘d say he‘s pretty likely to appear, at least more so than Tarantula, the Hand goons, or Sadie Sink‘s character ^^ Quote

Very negative take, that set had Jefferson Davis too, and between the figures had 7 exclusive prints, plus it wasn't just a portion of a modular building but it had a police car too. From this trailer we don't have much context to what either set could look like, but it could be possible Punisher and his van are in the Spidey vs Hulk set. Maybe it's just me, but the piece count in the prisoner transport (367) doesn't feel like you'd get two decently sized vehicles. I'd expect that set to be one armoured vehicle, almost to the scale of the Spider-Man 2 train set (393 pieces) I've just built the Oscorp set today, the size of the jewellery store/Miles' apartment is approximately 200 pieces, add another story to that and you've got about 300. Punisher's van can be done with around 200 pieces and voilà 11 minutes ago, BrickBob Studpants said: Indeed! All you'd need is a new torso print that could be used on two figures, generically reused heads, no leg prints and a Ninjago mask Quote

I wish it was both, but I can't see a way to do both at 367 pieces without the tank and van being extremely small or simplified. I'm going to hope it's the tank and that next year we get a small $25-30 set with the van. Doesn't even have to be movie based, it could be a comic War Van and they just give punisher more sci-fi-y weapons like the 90s cartoon did. 3 hours ago, thebricksbear said: So the prisoner transport likely has the 'big bad' in it based on the trailer. The amount going on in this film is a lot as-is, we really don't need to introduce that character, especially not before secret wars. Actually, that set had four minifigures with 4 exclusive head prints (Miles, unmasked Miles, Officer Morales, spot), 4 exclusive torso prints (Miles, Gwen, Officer Morales, Spot), and an exclusive leg print (spot). I would be surprised if the transport had less than four minifigures. My current guess is: Spider-Man, Punisher, mind-controlled DODC agent, and either the mind controller if she was given to lego or Scorpion if she wasn't. 14 minutes ago, BrickBob Studpants said: the Hand goons Hand battle pack plz. I still can't believe Daredevil hasn't been leaked for this movie. The Hand's back in new york. The guys who LITERALLY got him killed before. Who've killed his girlfriend twice. Killed his mentor. Almost destroyed the entire city. And he's what, too focused on Kingpin's "I want a casino where I wouldn't have to pay taxes bc it's technically not on US soil" real estate scheme to help out? Just now, NXS7 said: Very negative take, that set had Jefferson Davis too, and between the figures had 7 exclusive prints, plus it wasn't just a portion of a modular building but it had a police car too. Yeah, that set had 8 exclusive prints. The idea that a $60 playscale marvel set would only have two figs- much less a $90 one- is absurdly pessimistic. Quote
calebcold3 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 IF we get Punisher in one of the BND sets, I’m 100% sure they are going to use that Bucky Civil War/Batfleck/Quicksilver face print for him. Quote

Scarilian Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Yeah, with the piece count, I don't see the Prison Transport having more than one vehicle. Hopefully it's the tank, as the tank looks neat. Promo version is on merchandise, so either earlier in the movie OR almost a finalised design they changed late. I'm glad it's not the promo art tail because that looked terrible. Sadly it means the Lego version might be based on the promo art though. Or perhaps the van as a side build in an oscorp set (Obligatory Kaine, Daredevil, Punisher, Luna Snow.) In the time since my last post I saw an analysis of that final shot where it is framed really weird- it's not quite as obvious as that one shot from the NWH trailer where Lizard gets kicked by an edited-out multiversal spidey, but it does seem like they could be hiding 1-2 people on spidey's side. Charlie Cox also went on one of those late night slop shows and swore up and down he wasn't in BND, so... yeah, I agree, he's in BND. The more emphatic the refusal, just like NWH, the more clear they're trying to maintain an NDA. 19 hours ago, calebcold3 said: IF we get Punisher in one of the BND sets, I’m 100% sure they are going to use that Bucky Civil War/Batfleck/Quicksilver face print for him. I hope he gets his own, especially since the expressions don't really fit frank, but I know there's a LOT of prints we're going to need, so I'd be OK with him getting a re-use. While trying to see if there was anything about whether or not daredevil's in the movie, I did find out that Spoiler The Punisher special is supposed to include the panel where he punches a polar bear in the face I know we're never getting a set based on that project, but MAN does it make me happy to hear that regardless. Rivals has managed to hold 100-150k concurrent players for over a year now, really seems like it would be able to sell some sets... (I also want to make everyone here aware that, as part of their Mayor Fisk storyline- which somehow so far makes more sense than Born Again's take on it despite, you know, being a few cutscenes and lore paragraphs- shows a panel implying Kingpin somehow locked up Adam Warlock, which may rival that panel of Thanos getting arrested by two NYPD beat cops.) calebcold3 Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Do we think the Doom Bust is going to be comic based (reusing the figure from the Advent Calendar) or MCU/Doomsday Based? I could see both scenarios. Quote
josh_a_123 Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Helicarrier looks better than i thought it would be, i can't lie it's tipped me into wanting it now but i can wait to get it. Dual molded legs on cap finally! Quote
Mandalorianknight Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Looks really good, and they went all out on the minifigures, really excellent selection. Especially Winter Soldier Cap, he looks perfect. The carrier actually looks fairly large as well- the price seems somewhat reasonable here. Better than the 2015 one after adjusting for inflation, at least. Quote
Scarilian Posted March 23 Posted March 23 (edited) I feel like this is the result of a monkey paw curling, It's smoother which is great, but it's comes across unfinished because they intentionally left the rotor area not smoothed in places. The runways are not stickers for the majority, which is great, but rather than being printed it's looks like its brickbuilt sideways and then with a sticker ontop... should have just been printed pieces as it seems like a massive waste of piece count. The build is more detailed in places, which is great, but they've removed motor compatability, light compatability and it appears the rotors are stationary with less to make it stand out as a display piece. Helicarrier is more accurate to the movie, which is great, but there's no interior as a result of them trying to balance it all on a smaller stand with the majority of the build requiring stronger internals, so we also don't get the bridge which is the Helicarriers most iconic segment and we get compromises such as the observation deck just being black slope pieces. Will need to look into it more when we get higher quality pictures and hopefully see how it is made to see if there's anything you can do to add functionality or encorporate a microfig scale bridge, but for the moment I can't see justification for the pricing. Swordy Posted March 23 Posted March 23 (edited) Ha, I had a whole essay written up about my expectations for the minifigs of the Helicarrier, and shockingly, aside from TWS Falcon instead of Hawkeye, they went above and beyond my hopes: a new 2012-era Nick Fury, unique face prints for Maria Hill and Coulson, arm printing on a lot of these figures—including Cap, it looks like!—and even with Hawkeye I appreciate the level of detail put toward a niche costume. I'm genuinely impressed with this entire fig-lineup, which is a rare occurrence in LEGO Marvel. The build has grown on me over the past few hours. Compared to the original, it looks a lot cleaner and tidied up to make an overall better display. The photos on the box make it seem smaller, but compared to the figs in the lifestyle photos, I'm content. I'd prefer a price of $350 than $400—however, the original was, adjusted for inflated, roughly $480 USD, with a clunkier build and only two unique figures that weren't all that outstanding; additionally, TLG knows there is hype for this a reissue, so with all that in mind I understand the ever-so-slightly bloated price. My priority list: 1. Punisher in the tank chase 2. A Hand Ninja, ideally 2 (even if identical prints) in the office building 3. Tank Chase somehow manages to include a competent War Van build in that piece count Unfortunately, I don't think we're getting the figure that they seemingly edited out of the shot of spidey vs the hand in this wave since marvel's keeping him secret. Maybe we'll get a spoiler set with him down the line. (Potentially also including a buildable Spoiler Shathra because I'm still coping that Sadie Sink's character isn't who everyone's saying she is. Oh, also, you all heard it here first, I'm starting the theory that Keith David's character is Spoiler Ezekial Sims Edited Wednesday at 05:05 PM by Mandalorianknight Quote

I could be swayed on Helicarrier if it goes on sale and there's ways to modify it so interested to see better view of it. Very curious to see the BND sets. Tank Chase could simply be the Tank with Spider-man chasing it, giving us Scorpion because he's one of the earliest villains we had reported, then probably a DODC/Hand member and then Sadie Sink's character because they would'nt want to include Punisher in the cheaper set. Then Office could wind up being Spider-man, Hulk, Punisher, Hand Ninja, Boomerang, Tarantula and Tombstone. Quote
calebcold3 Posted Thursday at 02:38 AM Posted Thursday at 02:38 AM My Predictions for the Minifigure Line Ups for the Prisoner Transport and the Office Building sets: Prisoner Transport: Spider-Man, Scorpion, A Hand Ninja, and a DODC Agent Spider-Man VS Hulk at Office Building: Spider-Man, Hulk, Punisher, Sadie Sink's character, and a DODC agent Quote
