We can’t know for sure until we have a full set list for next year, but with a new Great Hall set rumored it’s looking likely that the East Wing was the grand finale, since Lego is unlikely to want two different castle systems going at once.

The Leaky Cauldron called, it would like to remind you (and Lego) of its existence. I’d also throw Eeylops Owl Emporium and the Magical Menagerie in there, because despite never being featured in the movies, the pet stores that Hedwig and Crookshanks came from are bound to be popular with all ages. I can also see Wiseacres, Scribbulus, or even a generic apothecary being done alongside a larger building like Gringott’s.

I sincerely hope not (as someone who is in a country getting SMART Play). And since Harry Potter lacks vehicles or brick built animals that regular fight each other, I’m hoping it doesn’t get pushed into the gimmick until Lego have either worked the kinks out or realized it’s going to crash and burn like all their other gimmicks.

If LEGO wanted to do the Leaky Cauldron they'd have done it by now. The older D2C DA had Ollivanders, B&B, and Gringotts. The newer D2C had Ollivanders (+ Scribbulus), F&B (+ Fortescue's), QQS (+the Prophet), and WWW. The Gringotts D2C had the Menagerie as a side-build. Most of those have been done now, leaving only Gringotts (which is big enough not to need a side-build in playset format) and F&B (significant for the Lockhart introduction and Ginny getting the diary) with Scribbulus, the Prophet, or the Menagerie as possible side-builds.

Of course LEGO might deviate from that script - Potages Cauldrons was definitely an odd choice - but I think it's reasonable to expect F&B and Gringotts as main builds.

You're right but HP was the first theme to use the sound brick (in the set The Big Turd) regardless, so it's a possibility IMO. They also seem to favour overpriced licenced themes in the roll-out (even though many have pointed out that City would be better suited). While HP is hardly SW it might be getting there.
