[MOC] German freight wagons

Hello!

After having posted my Baureihe 89.8, it is now time to show you the wagons I've built to go with it!

All wagons have 3D printed wheels, so they're actually to scale to the prototypes, rather than the too small wheels that Lego produces. And they all have the custom 52ZZ bearing treatment, to ensure smooth rolling! 

Stickers are made by Brickstickershop, similar to my Baureihe 89.8 stickers. I decided to only stick to the bare minimum of stickers, being the "Bremsecken" (The white squares in the corners) and the "Destination plate" (The black tile, I am unsure how to describe it any better, if someone can correct me on this, please do!)

The technique used for the side of the wagon, using the bracket and tile to get the right width of the vertical beams was inspired by "Pieter Post" on Flickr. Though I have no clue how exactly he did his wagons, I figured out my own way, using a metal technic axle in the middle, with the sections all sliding onto it to eliminate any possible gap!

Thank you! The G10 is definitely my favourite too! 

I got to say I love the Klappdeckels as well, I think this is amongst the first "proper" versions in Lego?

Honestly i don't know because I am not that well informed yet, I did not know this forum excisted a few weeks ago... what I do know is that they fit your great steam locomotive, love that one!

I was just about to search Eurobricks for some German train cars! Anyway, I was wondering where you found the dimensions to scale your model to. Is there a book that you used? I tried a quick internet search, but it did not reveal much about the dimensions or blueprints for German 1930s-40s freight cars. One last thing, can you link your Flickr below? I can't seem to get the link to open when I click the image.

I used a mix of different sources, Google searching in German for exact wagon types usually gets you halfway there, but if there isn't anything, I went to model railway sites. They usually have a model in whatever scale, that tends to be scaled correctly, so I used those dimensions as a base and went eye-balling from there!

There's also these books, but they're mighty expensive, and whilst I'd love to use them, I can't afford them if I also want to afford the bricks... 🫣

Oh nice, loves these detailed wagons. The wood wagons though looking clean and easy, I like how you did the stuff and all the recesses. Also like those custom buffers on it. Gives it a different vibe than using the lego ones. Now I wonder how the whole assembly looks. ;)

Very stylish freight wagons with lots of matching details. They're not my favorite era, but I like them a lot!

Thank you! I'll make sure to take some photos once my train station is done, so it doesn't just look like an empty circle on the ground, haha

Thank you! What would be your favourite ERA? My "layout" is kinda from between 1954-1964 so far, though I might make some more modern locomotives in the future as well!

Oh, I have a wide range of mocs... from 1920 to the present day. For a long time, my focus was on around 1935 to 1970, but at the moment I'm building more new stuff...

Oohhh, that's quite a range! There's some great modern trains around, want day I'd love to build a NS VIRM, as that's pretty much the main (and only) rolling stock we really work with at my depot 😅

Those are some really great looking freight cars. Very clean build with lots of fine detailing. You make it look easy
