I wish it wasn't the case, but I feel like the $100 set being a Mando on AT-RT statue is a lot more likely than Embo and Marrok being in the same set.

You mean Rotta and Embo? Because if they ever release Marrok, it absolutely would be in the same set as Embo. He’s his pet, after all! That said, Marrok probably won’t have a big enough role in the movie to warrant a new wolf-like piece and a brick-built version would likely look pretty dinky :snicker:

Pure anecdotal evidence, but my local Targets seem to be fully stocked on Smart Play sets - which is almost never the case for new SW releases.  Pretty much every set, even the ones that (in my opinion) are extremely overpriced (MTT or CTT last summer, for example) are cleaned out for at least a few weeks before they get a new shipment.  Unless these are flying off the shelves and being replenished immediately, they don't seem to be moving very quickly...

Curious what others have seen.  They've definitely put effort into the rollout of them, because they're either on endcaps or separate displays at each store I've seen - including displays near the front of the store in non-toy areas.

It seemed like none of them had been sold yet at mine either. I can't blame people, looking at the boxes they seem pretty puny for the price.

I definitely see the maxifig Vader coming this year given the recent rumours of Santa Claus / Pokémon Trainer / Spider-Punk too. Embo and Marrok aren’t completely far-fetched either given Embo already has a toy via the Disney Store figure set too.

I really hope so. I can understand shows like the Acolyte being seen as too risky to make toys on (even though a Qimir figure would be much appreciated), but a show based on Maul being ignored just seems odd.

Just quoting this part to keep the quote short but yes absolutely! Summer 2021 then introduced arm prints for Boba, Fennec, Echo etc. That Beskar Mando really did open the floodgates for better minifigure detailing in the theme.

I still think the Spider-Punk rumor feels far-fetched, unless it's just a normal spider-man who happens to include a mohawk and guitar in a set of accessories. He just seems like a weird variant for the first marvel maxifig, when the previous ones have been franchise/theme leads/mascots (spacemen, red-shirt-blue-pants, captain brickbeard, santa, harry and hermoine, Vader). Peter or Miles would seem more likely (Or Iron Man or Captain America or Hulk)

I think lego made the right choice with Acolyte between the show's reception, viewership, S2 cancellation, and my local ollies' being stuffed with the hasbro merch for it. But a Maul show? We don't have numbers yet, but fans seem to love it, and regardless of that, it's not an adult-skewing live-action series advertised with no recognizable characters. It's an animated series featuring Darth Maul and Mandalorians, some pretty marketable characters. Lego LOVES Maul. Mandalorians are the only faction besides clones to receive more than one battle pack since the sequels ended. The only thing I can think of is that the Year Of Mando was already planned out before they found out Maul was 2026, and with Mando already butting heads with their finally-complete-in-their-eyes smart sets, there just wasn't room.

I was thinking of the more prominent Marrok, still have Shadow Lord on the brain. Yes, Marrok (Anooba) would make sense along Embo, but like you said I doubt he'll be in a set at all.

It's a little concerning that nobody's got anecdotal evidence of them flying off the shelves. The Amazon sales data wasn't great in the US or UK either- not as bad as the anecdotal stuff we're seeing, but not good by any means.

I wonder what their profit margins are on these, and if highly publicized price reductions might help. Honestly, making the Advanced and X-wing loss leaders could have been wise.
