Classic_Spaceman Posted Sunday at 05:01 PM Posted Sunday at 05:01 PM (edited) Recently, user PeabodySam on the Research Realm Discord server discovered a long-lost Adventurers theme via a (now-disabled) BrickLink inventory comparison tool! Across ten sets (five per subtheme), Johnny Thunder and Dr. Kilroy would have returned to Egypt and faced off against living mummies and Anubis-headed guards (what is this, some kind of Pharaoh’s Quest?), then wrangled brickbuilt dinosaurs in an unspecified location! These sets never released, however, though some elements of them were repurposed (such as the Wyvern in set 7016, which began as a pterodactyl). Based on posts here on Eurobricks, there may have been some images of these sets circulating around the time the theme was cancelled (2005), but nothing has been found yet; that said, the inventories can be used to try to reverse-engineer these sets. I am linking the Brickipedia page for the cancelled theme, along with the inventory files - All credit goes to PeabodySam for finding and organising this piece of LEGO history! Sets: - Egypt: - 7425 - 7426 - 7427 - 7428 - 7430 - Dino: - 7431 - 7432 - 7433 - 7434 - 7472 Edited 22 hours ago by Classic_Spaceman Inventory links are broken - I am working on getting them back up! 😬 Quote

PeabodySam Posted Sunday at 06:26 PM Posted Sunday at 06:26 PM (edited) To give credit where it's due, I cannot take credit for "discovering" these Adventure sets through BrickLink Inventory Comparison Tool. I only discovered this thanks to this Reddit comment by "NotARedditUser614" two months ago. Before that, theqelement has documented these sets since March 2025, and Wolk said in The Research Realm that they've been using ICT to research cancelled sets since around October 2024. All this just to say that I'm actually quite late to the party! That being said, I'd like to think that I may be the first (or one of the first) to make a serious effort in looking at these Adventure sets, documenting them thoroughly, and attempting to decipher what they were based on the inventories; in particular, making the connection between the Dino wave and the Vikings Wyvern and baby Fafnir dragon, which to my knowledge was never documented before. I'm actually working on a video right now to help spread awareness of this, in hopes of this reaching anyone who was here on Eurobricks back in January-February 2005 and saw those leaked Adventure images. The most relevant topics are: Here, a link to a dealer catalog (originating from this Lowlug post by Lucajuventino) features a preview of Adventure, Vikings, and Duplo for September 2005. Based on other comments, it sounds like this image may have shown a small black dinosaur, potentially from 7431. Here, a photo of the plane from set 7433 was posted by @Mr.Bionicle. The last post in this topic also says that the plane and the little black dino were labeled "Adventure" (as opposed to "Adventurers"), which may have been the theme's post-Orient Expedition rebranding. Here, @Jipay posted a list of five sets provided by an anonymous leaker, shortly before Dino Attack's reveal at the New York Toy Fair 2005. Although the set numbers are from Dino Attack, the set names appear to be from Adventure Dino since they match (in order of smallest to largest piece count) the inventories of the cancelled sets. StudiosFan Posted Monday at 07:27 PM Posted Monday at 07:27 PM I do join this conversation to say the same inventory tool also gave us a full official (especially if you check for Lego Data) parts list for set 1375: Wrestling scene. The set image available for this set is an alt build only using a few elements from the parts list, there is no real image of the full set and no fan remake is based on real media. Would be cool to find what this set looked like! Quote

Even though Orient Expedition feels like a good enough send-off, continuation would have been fun. Good work, will be looking forward to it. Will ye leave a link to it in this topic once the video is complete? Quote
