GeoBrick Posted December 6, 2025 Posted December 6, 2025 So, as always I'm eager to know the origin of the minifig parts. I have the feeling Dresghan's outfit comes from the Harry Potter franchise, but I have no idea of Alrune's one. Quote

The legs of Dresghan and Alrune´s Torso are both from Tasha the Witch Queen from the D&D CMF Alrunes Cloak should be the one from the Wolfpack Beastmaster, also from CMF. Like you, I also wonder about some pieces sometimes and looked up the Falcon shield - I had no idea that it was included in a Kingdoms set. Anyways, I really love those small medievalish builds from this calender, especially so well built ones. Really great. (PS: I just found the skirt piece of Alrune and it is actually from Star Wars ( Figure: Moloch) would have never thought it would come from this franchise, but always surprised how well some parts match together) Quote

Kai NRG Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 Such great minifigure combos these past few days. Desghar's is particularly good. Love how the scene is coming together! On 12/4/2025 at 1:23 AM, Aurore said: For the sub-assemblies, it was way more complex last year - where each scene was like a puzzle and each day's mini-build had to complete the rest. The third scene in particular really required additional effort for all parts of the base to properly connect to the rest. Yes, I remember that! No surprise to hear that it was especially complicated, great stuff. Quote
Aurore Posted December 7, 2025 Author Posted December 7, 2025 (edited) Day 7. Customs officer and gift Dresghar - "A modest token of appreciation for the diligent service of Embervale's civil servants. Consider it… liquid gratitude. And no, Evrart, iit's not bribery if it's for our own people." Which concludes the first scene of this Calendar! Edited December 7, 2025 by Aurore Quote
GeoBrick Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 A most expensive "appreciation" if Pick And Bribe expenses are taken into account... Nice scene, with the sideway build of the dock and the registry desk being the toppers. So, is our blue-clothed porter Evrart then? I thought in the past he was more of a warrior type? Quote
Aurore Posted December 7, 2025 Author Posted December 7, 2025 (edited) @GeoBrick Well, Dresghar knows when being generous can be useful... And Evrart will only show up in the next scene. I have tried to limit the occurence of the main characters to once per Calendar, but it does llimit storytelling... Edited December 7, 2025 by Aurore Quote

Aurore Posted December 8, 2025 Author Posted December 8, 2025 Day 8. The Black Horse tavern courtyard Dresghar – “Darling, have you ever considered relocating Embervale somewhere warmer? Somewhere winter doesn’t mean ice, slush, and perpetual damp socks?” Alrune - "Absolutely not. Just stay inside by the fire, with three blankets and a few cats, and you'll understand why." GeoBrick Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 I see nothing but curves and angles, flowing nicely over the plate(s). Oh, and a few trees and snack stands of course. Quote
Aurore Posted December 8, 2025 Author Posted December 8, 2025 @GeoBrick And I see nothing but three little critters eyeing a snack. Quote
Aurore Posted December 9, 2025 Author Posted December 9, 2025 Day 9. The Black Horse's sign Evrart – “The Black Horse Tavern. Finest drinks in Embervale, and the only place where gossip is served faster than the drinks.” Spoiler Quote
Aurore Posted December 10, 2025 Author Posted December 10, 2025 Day 10. Serving barrels Alrune – “Mulled cider may well be humanity’s greatest achievement to date!” Evrart – “Didn’t you say the very same thing about counterweight trebuchets last spring, my Lady?” Spoiler Quote
Khorne Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Great builds all around! It's fun to follow along and see how it progresses. I really love the piece usage on the tavern sign and the serving barrels. The tavern sign is so "simple" yet very evocative. The little horse head is very fitting. Quote
zoth33 Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 Ah yes mulled cider. Really liking the builds so far. The dock looks great. Can't wait till my PAB order with pigeons arrive it looks great in these builds. Quote
Aurore Posted December 11, 2025 Author Posted December 11, 2025 @Khorne Thank you very much! I have thought of a wrought iron sign as soon as this tiny horse head appeared... @zoth33 Thank you so much! Hoping that your pigeons arrive soon - they're very cute! Quote
Aurore Posted December 11, 2025 Author Posted December 11, 2025 Day 11. Evrart and the tavern lad Dresghar - "So, your patrol routine now involves steaming cider and a suspicious lack of armor, Captain? That’s good - At last, you're learning!" Spoiler Quote
GeoBrick Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 Ah, and Evrart is in ranger outfit no less! And a beautiful cider stand at that. I still like that trick for the legs. I'll rise a mug in anticipation of those mini horseheads coming out in more sets. They're still pretty rare sofar. Quote
Aurore Posted December 11, 2025 Author Posted December 11, 2025 @GeoBrick Thank you very much - so glad you like the cider stand! And I'm with you on the mug rising for more mini horse heads. In reddish brown or dark brown, if possible! Quote
Aurore Posted December 12, 2025 Author Posted December 12, 2025 Day 12. Quest board Alrune - "Ah, the daily harvest of questing nonsense. Fetching herbs. Finding treasures. Stopping an evil cult. Anyone volunteered to explore this very, very distant uncharted land I suggested?" Spoiler Quote
Aurore Posted December 13, 2025 Author Posted December 13, 2025 Day 13. Adventurers Dresghar - "Adventurers bring coin. Coin brings taxes. Taxes bring modern sewers and heated baths." Alrune - "Are you implying I should stop using them as test subjects for experimental magic?" Spoiler Quote
