Hi All,

I want to build a fairground attraction from Lego Technic together with my son. We are both fans of the Nebuaz (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNIfLHdXhFY) We are only looking at the technology and we can't quite figure it out. How would we get the pole/mast to turn like the original (https://youtu.be/i4XnbKoZ_A4) has. Which Lego Technic parts do we need for this? And can this be built without installing the motor in the pole/mast with a battery pack?

All information is welcome, thnkx

The usual construction to power it from outside the tower would be a turntable - for example Large 60 tooth is the current production piece, they've had about 5 minor variants over the last 40 years - so one motor meshes with the teeth on its perimeter, and the other runs an axle up through the center to drive functions inside the spinning pole.

It depends how large you want the build to be, but 36 tooth gears could provide the linkage of the 4 arms on top - which are external to the pole on the actual one.  3 of them would be mounted exterior only, 1 would have an axle run through to the interior of the tower and connect to the axle coming up the middle.

Oh hi Marc,

most important piece would be the big turntables. The MOC version relies on self-built gear, but you can also interconnect 4 turntables together. As there are multiple versions of this turntable, you need precisely this version in the link above, as it has bevel gears, so they intermesh.

Here is an idea of that with some 3L pins and this connector:

You need two indipendent movement in the tower: The pivoting and the turning of the "rotors", therefor there are 2 motors in the MOC. But you can also interlink them and can also built a manual version with a handcrank if you want.

Thanks for the info! Do you mean a gear like the one I sent you a screenshot of below?

And what about the image you added at the top of the tower? And then you could drive it with two motors, right?

Hi! I understand your idea well, it's similar to the previous forum member's. My only question is, how do I get these gears to turn without any visible mechanism on the outside?

I also thought about starting with the manual control and then expanding this version with motors

If I use correct glasses, several topic are made by you recrntly; perhaps it would be wise to make just one named like Marc (probably not Marquez) Lab or something and politely ask @Milan to merge everything to this new topic...
