Hi all~

I'm happy to present my latest MOC: Porsche 964 Turbo.

The MOC was inspired by my design for CaDA – RUF CTR 2017 (C62003), but the only thing they actually have in common is the front arch.

Scale: 1:12
Length x Width x Height: 38 x 17 x 12 cm

Features:
- detachable body
- steering wheel connected to the front wheels with a control knob
- moving 6-piston engine with rotating rubber belts
- openable bonnet, trunk and doors
- full independent suspension

The MOC is available on Rebrickable

I reused the door mechanism from my previous MOC, Lancer Evolution.

I did my best to replicate the engine’s shape, including all visible components.

My favorite feature is the detachable body, just like in all my 1:12 scale MOCs I built this year.

Unfortunately, red is currently the only genuine LEGO color available for building this MOC.
I'm not rich enough to collect original LEGO parts for this MOC, so I went with the black version instead. Here are a couple of renders in the proper color.

I also designed a custom wheel cover for this MOC and uploaded the 3D file to the Rebrickable files section. Everyone can print it after purchasing the instructions.
I haven’t been able to print it yet, but maybe I will later.

So nicely finished all around, great use of large panels and also system pieces where required! I like the A pillar solution.

That door hinge mechanism looks like a nice trick, I checked it out in the Lancer video, but I am not sure I understand how that works, can you maybe show just the linkage without the door on it?

Another great 1:12 model from you, been loving these size models you have been putting out. They all look awesome and mix the system/technic pieces really well. I think in this case I actually like the black model better than the red one, makes the taillights pop more.

Door hinge mechanism is genius! Here's my understanding of it.... Open vs closed. Its very clever because it also limits how far the door can open.

Thanks for the picture, that's exactly how it works.

Thanks, that explains the hinge mechanism, I didn't quite get how the L shape is used, but now it's clear. Now the only thing I don't get is how the L shape is connected to the door panels themselves, I guess somehow on the inside, but I don't see any pins in the panels, and they don't have other free connection points either..

The hinge is attached to the door via the holes in the 71708 part. That was done on purpose to avoid visible pins on the doors.

Wow! The red version looks really good, especially with the custom wheel caps. I hate to repeat myself but when does it release as a CaDA set so I can buy it?

Unfortunately, not this time. From the very beginning, I chose to use panels that CaDA can't use due to licensing restrictions. Besides, they don't seem interested in 1/12 anymore.

Maybe because customers are more accustomed to brick-built cars at this scale without "complicated" Technic elements. I am still trying to convince myself to buy your RUF CTR Yellowbird since it's a mix of two systems. For pure Technic I think 1:10 or 1:8 is the better scale.

I have released the Carrera version of the Porsche 964.
The features are the same, but the engine was simplified according to the Carrera version.

I also want to modify the design so that it can be built in yellow.
