TommyProductionsInc Posted yesterday at 12:28 AM Posted yesterday at 12:28 AM (edited) Few people remember the first ever Lego SW Millennium-Falcon set from the year 2000, but those who do know...that it wasn't very good. ...but what if it was good? Introducing this beautiful beast. Made using ONLY parts from the year 2000 and prior, this MOC depicts what would happen if a Millennium-Falcon was built in the year 2000 using modern building techniques for it's successor sets. This amalgamation has features from nearly ALL Falcon playsets, including a landing ramp, computer systems, beds, the Dejarik Hologameboard, the engines, a platform for the top and bottom cannon turrets, a storage unit below an opening floorboard that minifigures can hide in, and more! Instructions can be purchased here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-220443/TommyProductionsInc/my-sw-2000-millennium-falcon/#details Edited yesterday at 12:30 AM by TommyProductionsInc Spelling error lol Quote
icm Posted yesterday at 12:50 AM Posted yesterday at 12:50 AM Wow, this is amazing. I don't think the 7190 Falcon was half-bad, but I didn't know it was possible to build a genuine pizza-slice Falcon using parts from the same year. Thanks for posting! Quote
Clone OPatra Posted yesterday at 01:25 AM Posted yesterday at 01:25 AM The 7190 Falcon is still the only one I own, but yeah, it really lived up to the quote "what a piece of junk!" That thing did NOT play well at all and would essentially break when touched. This on the other hand, looks fabulous. I love the concept of only using parts available from the era, and goes to show it was partially more about the design conventions of the time and how they have progressed rather than simply the parts available. Murdoch17 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago I had 7190 as a young child, and I wish your version was the set I got instead of the hot mess LEGO released back in 2000. Quote
icm Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago I'll note that while this is a very impressive build, it uses substantially more pieces than even the 2019 Falcon. Maybe it should be simplified, if possible, to be more like a hypothetical retail set from the era, without changing the overall style or dimensions. Quote
TommyProductionsInc Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago Thanks for the feedback and kind words guys! And yeah, if there's one complaint I had for my design (I have a few), the huge amount of parts would be one of them. Even the UCS X-Wing from the same year didn't have as many parts (the 1996 Lego Statue Of Liberty did though, a lot more in fact) , and I believe that's due to the extra details I added to my version and it's interior (which none of the official falcons took to the same degree as mine, and mine's not even accurate to the real falcon's interior, but I only figured that out when the instructions were 90% finished XD) Quote
