DISCUSSION TOPIC A discussion topic starting with [TC29]. A discussion topic needs to show some actual progress (i.e. pictures of the build in progress) and should not be used to "reserve an idea". Is a discussion topic required or is it allowed to only create a topic with a finished model? Showing a construction where ideas change doesn't necessarily seem like a good idea, besides, a MOC can be created comprehensively quite quickly. Quote

Why would it not be a good idea? Quote

Fair call. I have many unfinished TC entries so I understand that one… but best to try and fail… in front of everyone, right Quote

It's really important that you at least tried, and had a great and fun time creating the model:). Quote
howitzer Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I have also history of starting my building thread and then not finishing the entry for the contest, either due to time constraints or technical difficulties. Nothing wrong with that and at least I learned a little bit each time. I very much agree that posting a topic which shows progress throughout the project is important, if someone posts a finished model just before deadline without putting out any info on progress first, it feels somehow like cheating (even if it's not against the rules). I also have several threads of unfinished TC entries. Quote
Jurss Posted May 29 Posted May 29 In fact, that is the main idea, to show that building process, to have really activity here, not come out of Your cave, and sow something ready in one post. Quote
JoKo Posted June 25 Posted June 25 @Jim One late question about the rules: Can a tracked vehicle have a wheeled trailer? I mean a tracked trailer does not makes much sens IRL I guess. And traction on hard floor is not enough to power some mechanism on the trailer. Would this violate the no-halftrack rule? Quote

Well i think it's acceptable because it's an accessory for the tracked vehicle:). Quote

Not sure about it. We don't allow half-tracked vehicles either. Allow a wheeled trailer allows for a small tracked vehicle with a supercool wheeled trailer. Does feel a bit like opening the door to some creative rule bending. Quote

Does it seem fair to you guys? Edited June 25 by JoKo Quote

I laughed at myself when I realized that I argued "tracked trailer makes no sense" while the trailer is pulled by a tracked penny-farthing... (so realistic!) So I stopped being lazy about it and found a way to make it work with tracks, that's what this contest is about after all! I'm eager to show you the result. Edited June 27 by JoKo Quote

Jim Posted June 27 Author Posted June 27 Depends....if you have included an animal, that's okay. But if your model IS an animal....on tracks, that's not okay. It needs to be a vehicle. Quote

_Electro_ Posted Tuesday at 05:44 AM Posted Tuesday at 05:44 AM Can I enter the contest making a topic with final version of the model, or it's important to show progress? Quote

We have no strict rules this times, but it is kinda frowned upon. We like to see progression. You can create a topic now and show some pics On 6/27/2025 at 10:56 AM, msk6003 said: I think we can open entry post now? I will do shortly. Quote
