[BDP-7] Cherryliner Express Train

I voted for this already! Yours was, for me, one of the clear stand out entries in this series. 

We all want Lego to reproduce the Santa Fe, but that's not going to happen. Working with the parts available, you have produced this masterpiece! Very impressive.

I sincerely hope this makes the cut as I will for certain, even though I can't afford it, purchase a copy.

Agreed with @Toxic43's assessment of the model. I also voted for it and I sincerely hope it makes it this time! (Though I can't afford BDP sets, so even if it does make it I sadly won't be buying.)

I just realized the coloration of the loco reminds me a lot of the Chicago, Rock Island, & Pacific* diesel paint scheme, specifically this one. Was this railroad or it's paint schemes an influence on you @damangos?

* AKA 'the Rock Island Line' or, as it was known at the end, 'The Rock' (and no, I don't mean Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson!  )

Yes that was my inspiration. However, other commenters have noticed that the colour scheme is similar to the MKT heritage unit. So I don’t really know what was going through my mind.

Great build and I hope this makes it (I'd buy two). The 1x2x3 windows work well, too bad this part isn't available in light blay

Actually, with the short frame of the locomotive it looks more like the earlier EMD TA to me (woops, EMC, but who's counting the rivets?). Interestingly, Rock Island even had a dome obsv. for a little while in 1970 (see here... though unfortunately the pictures are not working... I hope the domemain isn't down for the count)

I didn't even know that TA loco type existed @zephyr1934. Thanks for teaching me something today!

Looks very nice, not 100% my train style. But definitly something I would consider when I see the BDP. Would be nice to have a more modern unit compared to the steam versions I saw last.
