Renny The Spaceman Posted March 18 Posted March 18 It's weird how much they overcharge even for the small dinosaur. Looking over the original JW wave they are all were pretty reasonably priced despite the dinos, in the UK the big set with the indominus was under the 10p per piece thing. Exactly like the General Previous thing where they weren't treated as super specialised pieces that cost extra but with both when they were reintroduced in 2018 they decided to charge way more for them going forward Quote

Compared to Marvel vaste or Star Wars. (Only grey colors and same models year after year). Ignoring the price increase, they were already overpriced. Quote

It wouldn't be such a huge deal if, say, the Spinosaurus & Quetzalcoatlus set was $100 in the first place and then they increased it to $110. Fair enough, still a good deal—but if they increase a ridiculous price of $150 to an even more ridiculous price of $160, then it's a much bigger deal, because we're straying further and further away from fair prices. imposter Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Why do you buy Star Wars, Superhero, Jurassic World sets if they are overpriced. LEGO has always been an expensive toy. In the past it has been even more expensive. TLG own theme prices are ok. CITY, Dreamzzz, Friends, Technic... for example. Quote

imposter Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Yes it has. You can want lot of things. Children are like that but adults understand that you need money. A lot of money. Working or some other way. LEGO has always been an expensive product. Mainly for families who have children. Quote

I really hope this is rage bait and not an actual opinion that LEGO used to be more expensive and now uses fair prices. I'm still going to buy the sets I like, but in no way does that mean I think the prices are justified, I'll still think they are overpriced. Edited March 18 by Dinobricks Quote
imposter Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I try to say that LEGO has always been expensive toy. If you collect SW or Jurassic - you must be rich in my opinion. Quote

Lion King Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I have no intentions. O buy all Jurassic World sets myself - I don’t care about minifigures or builds (except for 18= T-rex fossil set, I only love collecting molded creatures. Buying dinosaurs in secondary market like Bricklink or eBay might be expensive but it is quite cheaper than buying the actual sets. I will aim for Spinosaurus, Titanosaurus, Aquiltops, new Velicorratpor and recolored Quzatecaotlus. Business is not my best lanauge but i think licensed themes are expsnive becuase of line se fees. On other hand, in-house themes are still expensive. Quote

You have possibility to collect for example Dreamzzz sets. Jurassic World is licensed theme. Whole wave costs 400 euros or is even more? Quote

Lord Sith Lego Posted March 18 Posted March 18 People defending the price increase is crazy it just makes Lego more greedy. At the end of the day Lego suppose to be a kids toy and its the adult fans that are responsible for most of the price increase from the looks of it. Lego just became too big of a name and like all big name corporates they are not your friends so trying to justify their evil practices is beyond stupid. Quote

Wouldn't that affect LEGO? Quote

THELEGOBATMAN Posted March 24 Posted March 24 You know, when it comes to turtle (now known as imposter) it's usually best not to engage him when he's producing his nonsense, ragebait takes. Forgot about that rule before, but we can frankly move on to discuss... well, anything else. Quote
Lion King Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Agreed. To be frank, I was surprised there is no Galimimus this year. Last time it was seen is in 2020. It’s 5 years so I wonder if Lego will destory Galimimus mold after 5 years? And Same for Ankylosaurus? Quote
