mantax Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I just found some awful news regarding the Rebirth sets. The prices have been increased on some of the sets, but it's at least only in usd from what I can tell. Now I hope it doesn't change in other places, since the original prices aren't that great in the first place, and if they were even higher I probably would have still gotten the stuff I want, but I'd have to wait for a really nice discount. 76970 $25 - $28 76972 $35 - $39 76973 $100 - $110 76976 $150 - $160 Quote
PlanetLEGO Posted March 16 Posted March 16 (edited) Sigh Well, at least we have an idea of how the tariffs are going to affect the price of LEGO (for now). Edited March 16 by PlanetLEGO Quote
imposter Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I think increased prices are good thing. Now those who really want Jurassic sets day one won't be disappointed. If prices are too high for you. Wait first discount day. Quote

It's not a good thing from any possible angle—whether you love the sets or hate them, whether you plan on getting them day one, with a discount, or never. Quote
FinlayTheFaithful Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Yikes, that pricing was already absurd enough. Hope that they go on discount for people in the states soon Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted March 16 Posted March 16 (edited) Turtle and his crazy takes never disappoint Hopefully the prices remain the same in the rest of the world! Edited March 16 by BrickBob Studpants Quote

It seems that this Jurassic wave is very popular. This way TLG confirms that all hardcore fans get sets they want. Pricing is not that much higher. Quote
Time Dragon Posted March 16 Posted March 16 The problem is basically that if they cost more at all the opposite of savings will be passed on to you. I can just see the spinosaurus going for 20 bucks less then the whole set, on ebay at least. Quote
Scarilian Posted March 17 Posted March 17 At this point we are dealing with over-priced sets that have already had multiple price hikes ontop of them. There was a price hike for transportation costs, price hike for cost of living, price hike for environmental aspects and now a price hike likely due to tarriff rules all while Lego boasts about making its highest revenue. It's insane. 5 hours ago, imposter said: I think increased prices are good thing. Now those who really want Jurassic sets day one won't be disappointed If scalpers think they can make a profit, they'll still buy up as many sets as they can. It won't stop stock issues either, as non-Lego stores will be less incentivised to stock products if they are less likely to sell them. The more expensive sets become the more they move out of the target audiences price range. The increase here add another $28 split over those four sets - which is now the equivilant of buying another 76970: Baby Dinosaur Dolores: Aquilops. 3 hours ago, Time Dragon said: The problem is basically that if they cost more at all the opposite of savings will be passed on to you. I can just see the spinosaurus going for 20 bucks less then the whole set, on ebay at least. I've dabbled with the aftermarket for the molded Dinosaurs in the past and at times they are almost the cost of the entire set on their own due to them being the main appeal people have for getting most sets. As you mentioned here, the price hike is just going to cost people more and disuade people from buying the sets from Lego - resorting to aftermarket methods. Quote

The only reason the EB police haven’t thrown him into Arkham yet is because his jonkling is currently confined to the JW and Transformers threads. If the madness spreads, they’ll catch him again!! imposter Posted March 17 Posted March 17 You are complaining this: 160 > 170 for example. What is the whole point. Overpriced how? Compared to Marvel vaste or Star Wars. (Only grey colors and same models year after year). Quote
Lord Sith Lego Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Price increase making this wave less desirable especially when quality went down such as no painted claws etc. Depending how good the discount is when Amazon sales go around I might skip this wave. Quote
