NGL the fact that Mk4 is getting new prints makes me laugh not only given how stingy the other characters' prints are, but also that it's basically mk3 anyway.

I believe it is the only suit we were missing out of the original core of seven suits for the line-up to replicate the Iron Man 3 main armour display. Makes sense they'd want a unique version for that level of appeal even if the differences are subtle. It's the end of an era in a way if it's true - you can now own each version: MK1, MK2, MK3, MK4, MK5, MK6, MK7.

I believe the main missing suits now are the ones that were given focus, or at least namedrops and visuals, during the Iron Man 3 Final Battle - so an Iron Man 3: Final Battle or a D2C Malibu Mansion could be enough to complete the main figures. Though with the helmet change they'd have to go back and recycle older figures eventually for the consistency, but I doubt they will.

I was looking forward to the bust simply because it was allegedly the Mark VI design, which happens to be my personal favourite suit. If it’s going to be Mark IV instead, then it will probably end up being a pass.

(Boy am I gonna have fun with these Roman numerals.)

Mark IV as a minifig has always seemed so unnecessary to me. The only reason that version exists, in my oh so humble opinion, was because Marvel Studios couldn’t recreate the original costume from Iron Man. It may be enough to call it a different suit, but there was nothing done to enhance the character design that warrants a minifigure. (Arguably, Mark VII too falls into that category, but, needlessly to say, being a memorable aspect of the final act of the most iconic movie of the early MCU, gives it a pass.) Conversely, both Captain America’s Civil War and Endgame suits differed in approach compared to the AoU suit—yet TLG couldn’t be bothered to give the latter justice in 2025 or the former any justice at all.

If budget on new prints is so tight that TLG can’t be bother to resurrect an older print from less than four years ago, then don’t produce a needless variant. If the budget can allow for a random Iron Man from a not-as-beloved movie, then why not spread that love instead to upgrade Iron Spider, a character from the second and first highest-grossing MCU movies, or to produce the variant of Captain America from his highest grossing movie?

That also probably means he'll have the pink bathrobe - for better or worse.

I don’t see how that could be worse—his regular outfit is no different than the 2021 Spidey, which is still available on shelves (and rather cheaply so, might I add), so I don’t think a fun variant would be worse than a repetitive one (not gonna point a finger at the CMF Zombie Hunter Spidey, nope).

Anyway, news of baby Mayday gives me joy—and less than nine months of expectancy at that! :roflmao:

It’s even more bizarre when considering that TLG seemingly had the budget for one more Iron Man variant this year—but no, they shove another Mark XLIII down our throats after putting him in a BP. Not even the Mark L had to suffer such a fate before being thrown into the first Hall of Armor.

(To be fair, I don’t see how or why they’d need to improve beyond the ‘22 mech figure, which, besides the helmet, looks almost exactly like the Mark XLII. Compare reference photos of both and tell me I’m wrong.)

I am just not sure it really blends well with Lego whose focus is normally on creativity to release a set where the main focus is just a load of rubble intentionally made to look messy.

LEGO? Creative? You must’ve been trapped in the ice for the past couple years. Well, to start with, there began the 18+ initiative… /s

There’s a reason why TLG is where it’s at today, and it’s because of it’s creativity and originality. They might find more short-term success with the current strategy, but they won’t find long-term security unless they refocus on their core principles. Let the crazy AFoLs build extraordinary MOCs of the Endgame battlegrounds, and give kids fun, even good looking toys to smash around. (In recent memory, the Surtur battle and the Leviathan vs Hulk were just that.)

Alright, off my soap box.

I want to know how long prints "last" because they could literally have chucked the standard helmet on the '22 mech figure. (My personal collection does this, just with the first- best - helmet mold)

I'm guessing the fig designer for Lego Marvel is just a huge Iron Man fanboy. He gets an incoordinate amount of new prints compared to literally every other character. Yes, he's a major character, and yes, his suits require leg printing more than a number of other heroes, but the extent of the print budget he must take up is ridiculous. Cap gets one suit for anything he appears in after 2015, but Iron Man's near-identical suit gets a variant with new printing?

If only we could get a Daredevil and X-Men superfan on the design team lol

There shouldn't be bias in the design process, make stuff for everyone, not for yourself mr designer

I hope the design team hires comic book fans in and make comic book based sets with characters we've never gotten before or more variants of ones we only got 1 of in the past 13 years

Crazy how we only got 1 Kraven, 1 Doctor Doom, 1 Deadpool, 1 Daredevil

We still need Luke Cage, Elektra,Bullseye,Kingpin,Mystique, Sabertooth, Nightcrawler,Jubilee, Colossus, Comic Electro, a new Doctor Doom,

It's crazy it's been 13 years since the theme started and we haven't gotten those characters, best we got was in the video games

The MCU has declined and it's time to stop making sets for it, make comic book sets like criminal hideouts, buildings and no more spider vehicles

Just make sets for Doomsday,Spider-man 4 and Secret Wars and be done with it all

Kraven is coming in Oscorp this summer, Doom’s definitely getting a figure within the next 12 months and the other two are primarily associated with R-Rated properties so it’s not really a surprise.

Decided to pull the trigger and get the X-Mansion figures I wanted from Bricklink. Thoughts below:

Cyclops: With the addition of dual molded legs (and even yellow hips) this fig is perfect. Can’t tell if I like him more with blue hips or yellow ones because both look so good. It is amazing that we were ever ok with the 2014 version with it’s minimal dark printing and tanned face. A 9/10 or 10/10 figure in my book.

Rogue: Bit of a mixed bag. Head is perfect. Hair should have been brown but is not as bright or bad as I imagined; very good hair overall. Legs are nice as well. The torso is the big detractor as the design is very nice but too dark to really be appreciated. 7/10.

Bishop: Head is imaculate. One of the most perfect head prints I’ve ever seen. The torso is great, don’t get me wrong, but after looking at it closer I feel like it is somehow super detailed yet also strangely simple. Might need to give him brown flesh arms to break up all the blue. 8.5/10.

Jean Grey: I was torn on even getting this one as I wasn’t in love with the design (bit under-detailed, torso printing feels “big” like it is zoomed in, head is pale, no leg print, would have preferred standard blue, hair should be red, etc.) and I feel the same way after seeing it in person. Lot of potential and not bad per se but could be much better. Might be better with a red ponytail piece but not sure. My advice is to hold out for a better version or a Phoenix variant one day. With great sadness… 5.5/10 or 6/10.

BONUS: 2013 Pepper Potts with Jean Grey’s hair: Gave Jean’s bright reddish orange hair to my old Iron Man 3 Pepper Potts figure and my goodness is it excellent. So vibrant and such a fresh pop of color - incredible. Never had this orange color until right now and I love it. Turned an otherwise regular Pepper minifig into such a stunning figure by swapping out just 1 simple piece. 1,000,000/10!

Anyway those are my reviews. Hopefully it helps anyone who is thinking about buying the figs (or the set maybe). Overall, happy that we got some X-Men figures finally but be warned that they are a mixed bag.

On BrickFanatics, there are rumors that the 71050 Spider-Verse CMF may be pushed back along with the Beyond the Spider-Verse!

They can't push back Beyond the Spider-Verse; it doesn't HAVE a release date yet! (Or even a production start date yet, if the voice actors are to be believed.)

If they actually have a release date they can work towards, and therefore want to delay merchandise to match, then I'm all for it, but i'd wait for some more substantial sources to weigh in on this.

Would make sense, though, given how poorly last year"s Spidey-themed AC was received. They might want to wait for that extra marketing push

Wasted potential. No Scarlet Spider, Spider Woman, lack of key comic variants.

With any luck, if it’s true, they’ll replace it with a DC CMF seeing how well received the Superman trailer was.

Lego won’t though because that would be a logical decision 🤪

BrickFanatics is one of the worst Lego Ambassador websites, and thrives off of clickbait, a choking amount of ads, and preying on people to pay for minifigure scanning verification even though there's several apps that will let you do it completely free. They even admit at the bottom of the article that it's all just "pure speculation," so I'm not even taking it with a grain of salt - I simply don't believe it

Besides, Marvel sets based on things that got pushed back isn't unheard of - 76194, for example.

Plus, the series is based on the second movie based on the current rumors, so why would they delay it to go with the third movie? It's not like The Spot set was pushed back.

The only 2 CMFs I’m really excited for are Prowler Miles (hopefully has enough generic-ness to it to double as an actual Prowler) and Spider-Gwen. I’ve been holding out on a version of her with her green sneakers and hopefully some arm printing or hoodie printing.

Unfortunately, it's a different chest symbol, different colors, an inverted mask color-wise, etc.

Yeah I mean I wouldn't trust brick fanatics but given how heavily this CMF leans on the spider verse movies, to the extent of choosing some pretty obscure variants rather than ones who have any recognition outside the movie, I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to wait for BTSV. Hopefully that movie releases.... ever... Miles's VA certainly isn't helping.

Powerman is not Luke Cage, well not that version anyway

If that means replacing it with a different Marvel CMF, then yes I want this

He literally is Luke Cage. If you're saying he doesn't count because you're talking about a different version, unless you mean the classic tiara version, any official lego one would be more or less the same as figbashing a generic civilian.

I think a new one would be nice given how long it's been, but on the priority list of characters we need, Luke Cage is so easy to make purist versions of that'd look 1:1 with an official lego one that he's pretty far down the list.

Yep, it’s pure speculation on their part. Not to brick on them but clickbait is that site’s bread and butter. The lack of development on BTSV has been common knowledge for a long time, can’t imagine this being new news.

I’m shocked the Milano is retiring by the end of the year. Built the set last week and it’s one of the best Lego have ever put out. I wonder if this means a large vehicle build is due for this theme next year?

That said, as amazing as the recent Quinjet was, getting another Quinjet at the same price point and piece count as the Milano would be awesome. The Milano itself is undersized compared to the source material but a Quinjet at thst size would be true minifigure scale.

Anyway, more large space / aircraft sets please Lego Marvel!

I know this isn't super relevant, but I recently got that 4+ Hulk and Iron Man set because it was like £7 in an order of things I needed anyway

It's REALLY cool, and as silly as it feels to say about something like it (that's so small and for four year olds) I think represents some design philosophy that the rest of the theme could think about adopting

The Iron Man stuff is whatever, it's a pretty standard 4+ large pieces bike, but it does the job in so few parts and I think there's some value in that

The Hulk part of the set is just great, though - it's so simple, but the 'smash' feature is so satisfying and well-executed that I think honestly anyone would have a lot of fun with it - but this is what I've been saying for so long! Sets should showcase their characters' powers! A Hulk set where Hulk smashes a building and it crumbles into a bunch of pieces is so obvious to me, but it's really great to actually see take shape

I think if we got more basic concepts like this (a way for Spidey to actually swing, a way for flying characters to actually fly, that sorta thing) instead of static representations of those powers, these sets would instantly be more fun, which is better for everyone, I think

Also, the Hulk figure is top-tier, I love him

Marvels currently revealing the Doomsday cast (extremely slowly)*. How many of these do you all think we'll get in the Doomsday wave?

*Although at the rate it's going it's probably too soon to say with any certainty.

I do have them slowly putting out chairs open on a table to the side whilst I'm working on some sprites, god it's so slow and drawn out it makes the logo set look exciting!

Looks like we could get quite a few Thunderbolts minifigs in Doomsday sets. At least that makes up for missing sets for movie. Well if they make it into the sets 😂

I thought it was ridiculous and also very boring at first but like you I put it on in the background while working and I've started to get into it haha.

Although I'm finished working now so don't know if I'll leave it on for much longer. The second to last name that came on intrigued me though.

Yeah, I've moved on to cooking my pasta but I've left on my phone as I take a quick look when I hear the music .

I'm guessing the interesting one was

They are running through the Avengers: Doomsday casting... it's going to last quite a while. It's fairly clear that to do this film justice they'd need to devote more than six sets (character wise) for this...
