Probably veering away from lego but the issue is the cinematic universe venture only can last so long before getting insular, it doesn't open new storytelling possibilities, it's a gimmick to make you watch 38 of the same movie and that sorta gimmick really has diminishing returns. There are a lot of kids in peak lego age not born or who were too young to form memories in 2018, 2019. They have no reason to give a crap and no entrypoint to these films unless a parent sat down a kid and showed them all 49 films and 36 shows, and even then a kid might not care. Spider-Man and Batman are uniquely marketable but everyone else depends on nostalgia and the entrenched superfans who'll see anything with the logo. The DCU I think is gonna struggle because Gunn is going full Cinematic universe with 78 tv show characters apparently in Superman 2.

The Batman is funny because it's the only one of these films where the announcements are "This is a Batman Movie, it will star Batman character" instead of Spider-Man teams up with the Nightman to fight Purple Hulk or something

I’m a bit more optimistic about the DCU simply because Gunn said the focus was on making projects that stood on their own where people could jump in at any time. Now, in practice, I expect that attempts to make projects that stand on their own will eventually clash with the long-form storytelling. As you say, that’s just the nature of cinematic universes. But so far, the projects have stood largely on their own while tying together. I can watch Superman without having seen Creature Commandos and Peacemaker season 2 without having seen either of them. Do I get more of the story from watching all three projects? Sure. But it’s not like the MCU where if I try to watch a Spider-Man movie I need to have seen the Avengers films, Dr Strange, and the Amazing Spider-Man movies to understand what’s going on.

No idea what you’re talking about with 78 TV characters in Man of Tomorrow. It’s hard to say at this point, but so far it seems to be a fairly self-contained sequel to Superman, especially compared to fans expectations that this will somehow also setup Wonder Woman and Batman and the Justice League.

As for The Batman movies, while I appreciate they are more self contained, they’re also just far more adult oriented and just aren’t going to interest kids and lead to more sets like the more family friendly MCU films did and, hopefully, the DCU films do (even if they also make TV-MA R-rated tie-ins which is mind bogging when you’re trying to create a family friendly film universe). And sure, Batman has usually been gritty and more adult than the others, but the Batman especially seems to lean less into traditional action films and more into David Fincher and crime thrillers which just aren’t as interesting to kids and teens.

I'm starting to think that IF we any other sets for the year, it will just be only one set and, that one set will be a D2C that will be released in like the Fall.

And I feel like the D2C would be the Battinson-Mobile with a reuse of the 2026 Battinson Minifigure (but with a rubber cape) and Alfred (using reused pieces)

I just.. don't see us getting any other retail sets for the rest of the year, which is unfortunate, as I was thinking we'd get a set or two during the summer, but I feel like we would've found out by now if we were.

That new garbage monster head mold would be perfect for a minifig scaled clayface

That’s not a new piece, it was introduced for Vidiyo in 2021 and has since been used in Dreamzzz sets  If they really wanted to use it for Clayface, they would’ve done so already.

If it had a batmobile yes.  Lego clearly only sees Batman as the main money bank,  such a shame when you see the love Marvel gets for there sets.

Lol I realized this the moment after I posted this. I think I didn't realize because it was the first time I saw it in an opaque color. I did a quick photoshop to see it in a color that is closer to clayface, and now I'm bummed we haven't gotten him yet.
