AVCampos Posted February 21 Posted February 21 That price was for 2010. Converting to 2025 it's actually more than $290, but admittedly still less than the rumoured $400. Quote

Why do I think that TLG could be so lame and use two of those in a RC excavator? One between the tracks, second in the superstructure, with gearbox like in 8043? I hope not, but it might be sold as RECHARGEABLE! Well in world of "great" Lego ideas latelly; nothing is impossible. Rechargeable with less parts... Quote

So it may be similar in value, but let's wait some confirmations regarding on what is included in 42215. Personally for me it could be hard to justify spending 400 euros for another excavator (I have all heavy duty technic flagships starting with 8043). It better won't have the old pieces for tracks and finally introduce either new pieces or recoloured Cat dozer parts :) Quote

Not sure if Volvo Cars will have any exciting enough products out for TLG to licence them. Polestar maybe. Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted February 22 Posted February 22 If the EC500 also comes with a bucket, and it's built to scale with previous sets, then the bucket is going to be mahoosive. Think something in the same range as the Liebherr bucket. Quote
Oh_Hi_Mao Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I made scale comparisson between EC230 and EC500. Given the piece count I think it might be the same scale to EC230. Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Hmm. Would that scale accomodate nearly 2400 parts? Remember that the EC230 is accompanied by a truck, a trailer, and a power unit, all of which combined use less parts than that. Quote
Aurorasaurus Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Maybe it will be a good size to play with the dump truck volvo set from a few years back. That feels like it would make sense. Quote

If level of detail would be similiar to 42100 (hidraulic hoses and other decorations) - it Could be possible. Quote
mpj Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I'm afraid it does not come with a shear but with an hammer. So definitely not a proper demolition excavator. Quote

Maybe something like the pile driver from 42082. Quote

Matt1217 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) It'd be awesome if TLG really does release a properly made excavator, better than the skeletal EC230 in the FMX Truck set. I'm looking forward to seeing whether or not this rumored set is truly coming out. Edited February 23 by Matt1217 Quote

Bartybum Posted February 24 Posted February 24 (edited) Called it, RC excavator was the only thing that made sense for $400 and 2.4k pieces My guess is the overall envelope will be slightly larger than 8043, maybe 20-25% Edited February 24 by Bartybum Quote
