Thank you for your attention to detail and all the critiques so far. We had a busy weekend here in Canada with the holiday so I am just getting around to reading all the comments. I made a quick update so please check it out!

I’m jealous, this is one set I didn’t have growing up. And I hope you like the new box art image I’ve added. Thanks for the critique, it is tricky to add a story when you are trying to replicate the original.

Yes, the box art look pretty good, nice addition for sure. Using that Harry Potter tile for the ship sail was brilliant.

I successfully placed an order for Horation who is also located in Canada so in theory there shouldn't be any issues.

It is in fact an advantage, as Lego sets tend to be cheaper in Canada than in Europe, so I got 42 Euros per European prices, but which retailed for an amount equal to only 35 Euros in Canadian dollars... 

Just don't forget to follow the prize claiming rules...

Nice part usage! I particularly like the shoulder-armour boat and the Gryffindor tile for the sails. Great work!

Maybe some nanofigures would've worked better for the characters, though.

Thanks, I did try the nanofigs, but I couldn’t depict Steve well enough.

Wonderful little build! I think you captured the details of the trading post well, even at that scale! The only thing I would love to see is a version of this physically built and next to the full sized trading post!

Neat idea… unfortunately we don’t own the original trading post. Perhaps someone who does would be willing to build their own MOC?

Lots of NPU in this moc. From upside down minifigure shoulder armour for a ship hull, a Gryffindor logo for a sail, and an old square headlight brick. I have to be honest though, the minifig stickers on the 1x1 bricks are neat but I like it better without, they make it look a bit crowded and they seem just tad out of scale.

Yeah, that's the downside of these "mini-minifigures" (as I now realise after doing it in one of my own entries), but in the end I still feel like they're worth it, at least in this case.

Now everyone is talking about the gryffindor tile, but there's something I want to mention : the cranes, I don't even recognise all the pieces used to make them, care to enlighten me?

And I now see we both made our palm trees in the same way, I genuinely didn't do it consciously, but I should at least mention that this build served as inspiration in such a way.

@Math Wizard, I've tried to but it's very challenging. 

Otherwise, one trick is to scale down the stickered minifigs, or use a sideways tile embedded sideways between two plates (which IS a Legal technique).

Maybe, I don't see why they wouldn't fit but the figures would still be out of scale in my opinion. I still think it's a novel idea that would work better with the build designed around the figure stickers instead of them being added afterwards.

Thanks Matt Wizard! Sydney was working on another minibuild so maybe we’ll try round bricks instead!

A tile or wedge might work too. The new 2x1 wedge might work nicely and stand on its end as well!

We had a little computer trouble and we’ve been on vacation, otherwise I would have posted Sydney’s next minibuild by now. I’m taking notes so please keep those comments coming!

Will it be yet another remake, or shall it be an entirely original design?

If you’d like to guess, I’m sure it won’t be too hard. Here’s a clue: it is another classic set where Steve makes an appearance!

I think the best advice is to choose how you're doing the figs first, and then scale the minibuild to that, and you'll avoid any problems with sizing.

Considering he's only in two sets, I'd have to guess the 6286 Skulls Eye Schooner!

Otherwise, I can suggest simply putting fewer of them, say Steve and a soldier or two, and we can pretend the rest of them are in the fort.

Or if you are making, say a schooner or something like that, they could be under the deck, with Steve on the lookout for imperials.

This makes me wonder a more philosophical question: how simplified can something be before it is no longer iconic? Either way, though, this build certainly is iconic!
