Dr Snotson Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 DB 01 & F-ZUG LEGO SIMON JAKOBI 01 02 by Simon Jakobi, auf Flickr This year I was lucky to finish a long term project... My 01 did receive a major overhaul and some matching rolling stock. Together they form a full consist of a german F-Zug. The new version of my blue lady was inspired by my concept for a 03 on LEGO IDEAS. The tender is all new. I did change the roof and cabine of the engine. The cylinders and several details of the boiler were improved too. But what is most important: She proofed herself as quite a reliable and strong runner on the first exihibtions. Please note: the wagons are slightly shortend by two or three windows and feature standard couplings to keep them compatibel with the engines of other designers and the small radii (R72 and R88) of our LUG-Layout. Up to now I build three wagons including a dinning car. All of the wagons feature full interior and internal illumination. JopieK Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Really nice. The nine wide allows to add so many great details! I like the stickers too, they really add to the realism. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Wonderful train! The locomotive with the large wheels and dark blue livery is a gem! The carriages are perfect and full of details...I like the shot on the carriage with the bajours visible from the windows. Quote
LordsofMedieval Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Very nice proportions. I sure wish Lego would give us the equivalent of 80-ish inch wheels and driving rods in real bricks. Quote
Toastie Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Pure blue gold. Crazy. And incredibly, nicely done. For me: Un-be-lievable what you have created. Congratulations! 1 hour ago, LordsofMedieval said: I sure wish Lego would give us the equivalent of 80-ish inch wheels and driving rods in real bricks Who? LEGO? Or TLG? No. They don't. They look at profit only. But there is nothing wrong to wish for that to happen. And: There is more than TLG on his planet. All the best, Thorsten Quote
zephyr1934 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 That locomotive is simply striking in blue Quote
Feuer Zug Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Superb work on this wonderful locomotive and consist. All the details really make these three stand out. Kudos. Quote
Yperio_Bricks Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Wonderful locomotive and coaches Amazing how many details you packed into these! Quote
GrandPixelMan Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Wow, what a lovely consist. The mix of colours looks great! Quote
Dr Snotson Posted September 25, 2023 Author Posted September 25, 2023 Thank you all! I do not have lots of time for our great hobby at the moment. The more happy I`am that you like my little consist. Maybe next year I will add a baggage wagon. Dark green would be nice. At the moment the plattforms of our Layout are too short. Greetings, Simon! Quote
FGMatt Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Looks great! What part did you use as the connecting rod between the driving wheels? Quote
M_slug357 Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 @FGMatt I think thats a custom piece Quote

Eki1210 Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Amazing Thought it was a model-train at first, great stuff Quote

-DoNe- Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Very nice build! The proportions look great. I recently built a B01 but used only genuine Lego train wheels. Which I have now concluded are just to small. What size are the ones you used? XL or XXL? Quote

I gave L wheels a chance on my 03 on LEGO IDEAS: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/5c87154b-3396-4343-ac5e-42a5f10bd988 As I mentioned above the design of the egines is pretty close. When you compare my 01 to my 03 the improvement by using XXL-wheels is obvious. Quote
