Right on the "photo finish" of the contest, here is my version of one of the most loved boats from the classic pirate series...the Caribbean Clipper.

Lengthened version with one more hull in the middle section, the addition of a second mast (three more custom sails than set 6274), captain's cabin and lower deck with armory/guns compartment, crew quarters and galley.

Hope you like it!

Lovely, the extra sails were a good call along with some of the other colors, and even though back then I recall they did not use dark brown that much for pieces, I would recommend changing the decks for this or black because I think the white decks are a bit bright and couldn't be kept clean for quite long. My only other problem that I have with the ship is all the new pieces, on an old-looking ship, is there any reason that you did not make a complete remake of the set? For instance, why not just make all the new gold pieces yellow, or add a torch instead of a lantern (btw I love those lanterns, very clever). Anyway, Happy building :)

Yet another ship for the Blues ;)

I like Your sail, that stern and the bow, but I'm not too fond of the middle section, you said it's lenghtened, but it's sadly looks bulky, especially because of those blue-white elements added by the gun ports. It's very puffy this way, sort of reminds me of those floatable toys for kids, swim rings etc.

But the overall way Your ship is designed is quite nice, it's not a bad build, and i mean all those difficult elements that every ship, Lego or real, needs to have. And i like all those lanterns. But Your obsession with white realy takes away all the attention from those nicer parts. It;s too much, it;s not something i'd want to see in Pirate theme, and it;s not that the cat would poop on or that gunsmoke would make it dirty and so it would be hard to wash. Its just that it so much reminds of all those repetitive modern boatds, river ferries, fishing boats, yachts, etc... and honesly, if You;d replace that deck from snow to brown, it would look so much better!

Plus, You're constantly using those shiny pieces, one that can;t hold a figure... and are shiny ;) And with Lego sets the fun is not made by just constantly moving minifigues, but in placing them in different areas as well. With most of the classic playsets and vehicles, not only Lego, it's always recalled how many figures could be fit into them, how many action figures could be sticked into a platform behind a gun etc. As it always made them cooler. A vehicle that could provide space for two figures was always "better" than a vehicle with space for only one. And with Your ship being so spacious there;s hardly place we could position those figures in. Sure, bricks could be replaced, but that's not the idea people want to think about. Everyone wants the finished product ;) Not something that they would have to rearange ;)

Same goes for the mast! It could be such a nice place to place someone. A sharpsooter or a boarding party... if there only was a line they could grab onto. But unfortunately, it can;t be done here too, cause it's those damn shiny pieces ;)

But i see that not only those elements are so polished and stuck in here. Maps are too. Or at least it looks that way. Or maybe that map on the table can slide? But i think maps are such important accesory in the Lego Pirate world that everyone would prefer to run freely with them. Sure, it could be unattached from that place, but again, first impression is important.

I'll admit i like that lower deck much more, even tho i'm not a fan of those removable parts... But once i took a trip there, i can see that somewhat uniqe, different from what i've seen on other ships. It's very crowded with all sorts of equipment, guns and supplies... and lots of white again ;) But i can spot some very interesting ideas i've never thought about. Like those shelves for muskets over beds, beds made as chequerboards ( that remind me of my summercamps days ) and boxex full of letters :) Can only wonder which of those crewmember can write so well. Or maybe those are love letters to all those wives left behind in every port of the world? ;) OR maybe it;s a postal ship, carrying royal mail and private correspondonce to the colonies from the motherland? See? With these letters You gave me something that allows so many storytelling ideas. And that;s what counts, as to me Lego is all about storytelling :)

Hope those letters can be easily taken out of these boxes tho! :) They look kinda stuck ;)

But at least now we have an idea for a new ship in the series, one with own specialization. A postal ship. They did exist after all, carrying mail was very important. Is it usable for a Lego theme? I don;t know. But at least this way it's somewhat different from dozens of those vessels who's only job is to carry cannons ;)

But i'm a bit worried i might be one of the few who will see that impressie gallery of photos, nice waltrough the entire build, cause it took me a while to realize that there's more than just one picture in there :)

So i'd suggest You to add a clear note in Your first post that everyone should click on that photo to slide trough the gallery. Or You could add few more pics directly to this thread ;)

Nice!! The blue and white striping on the tumblehome and cannon covers is the best part of the build.  So good!

There are quite a lot of good techniques used here, the ratline extension, the 1x1 round plates in the technic bricks, the use of 3x3 curved windows as a railing, the wheel well window shades, the list goes on.

I really like the way the whole thing disassembles to access the below decks.

The clock really bothers me, as clocks with a second hand would have absolutely changed the world in the 1600s.

The use of both yellow and gold is a bit much in places, especially on the back of the ship, but it's OK for the most part.

I just love how well detailed the whole build is, the cooking area below decks, the barrel of swords, all the accessories, the beds, the captain's quarters.

One of the main complaints that I have is that this mixes a lot of older and newer techniques: the front/upper deck of the ship is built with blocky 3x3 modified facet bricks, but then right next to those is a very modern lantern design.  There's a few other places like this; anywhere that's a flat wall of some color could be broken up with a more modern design.  Again, the side of the ship where the cannons come through the tumblehome is perfect, it's what the rest of this build should aspire to.

I am not a big fan of tiles everywhere; they make it hard to pose figures.  But, this is minor.  All in all, very nice work.  An excellent ship!

A nice ship, I like the size and proportions of this build. Nice use of the older smaller and bigger ladder pieces. I particularly like how the short one is fixed at the bottom. Is it just the shading of the images or is this really not the ordinary blue color. It looks lighter?

I used to tile or SNOT most of my builds but lately I decided that studs have some charm. Especially for a real set a full tiled floors are a bit too much on the MOC side. Although the color scheme is nice, I'm not too fond of the thick black line between the hull and the deck. Also the 45 degree wedge lines are too edgy, I prefer the style from the good old Imperial flagship with the snotted curves at the front.

I don’t suppose you have instructions?

No, sorry... I built it directly "from real", and I also already dismantled it because, in the end, I didn't like the result...
