Thomas Waagenaar Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 (edited) After recent news became public in the Kings Port advertiser about how the Oleonic financial managment was in shambles, it was quickly called for reforms. As such, they decided a new financial embassy would be created. Whilst the construction of the actual embassy was still in full swing, the first part of the gardens were recently finished. Namely the fountain at the base of the long pond stretching down the entire main road. After the sun has set, and the fountain has been turned off, the lamplighter and his companion are busy ensuring that the lanterns get turned on. A young soldier is proposing to his partner under the light of the lantern next to the garden. There's also a street musician playing in the backgroundin the hopes to earn some money. I can only assume he's playing something romantic right now?An overview of the fountain, with the lilypads and the wildering grass. Ignoring it for just a week and it already becomes overgrown, they have yet tohire a gardener that will maintain the foliage around the place...OOC: This has been WIP for way too long, I've never had the drive to finish it as I was busy with other things as well. Originally I wanted to add a lot of detailing to the grey walls but I just couldn'tbring myself to do so, as I really just wanted to get it done after having put a lot of time into randomising the streets and a lot of tedious work around the lilypads... (They don't clip through anything, to ensurethis building would be fully possible to make with real bricks! As such, it was really tedious to work around them!)It'll be licensed to the faction in the city of Lavalette. It is intended (If it will happen, is another question), to attach an embassy building to this at the closed side of the pond to finish it up in the end. For now, it'll suffice as Large Art/Culture to hopefully help alliviate some of the costs Oleon has... Edited February 2, 2023 by Thomas Waagenaar Quote
Krol Zmija Sebastian Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 A nice addition to your life, I'm pleased to see you sharing it with me. Quote
Yperio_Bricks Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 That's a nice garden scene. I like the stories you tell with the minifigures. The lamplighter is the highlight of course! Quote
Ross Fisher Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 I love lamp. I love lamp! Seriously, this is a really nice building. The kind of classiness that Oleon should be known for. Quote
NOD Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 A very nice embassy garden! Too bad the water was turned off at the fountain. I like the different activities of the residents. The singer must be really good because he already got some doubloons. The marriage proposal is also very well presented. Quote
Kai NRG Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 I just love the way sand blue looks in the cobblestone! Do those exist IRL yet? If so, I might have to "invest" in some Quote
Jeff of Clubs Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Very fetching! Channeling those old enlightenment era gardens quite nicely! Quote
Bregir Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 Certainly, I cannot be the only one to chuckle at the prospect of fixing economical problems by building a garden? Excellent trees, great lampposts, and a lovely texture all around. Well done. I do not think it looks as unfinished as you think, and it has a very serene atmosphere. Quote

(I had some rendering issues that lead me to remove my attempts at water sprouts sadly...) On 2/5/2023 at 5:38 PM, Jeff of Clubs said: Very fetching! I think I did quite an alright job at that :P 12 hours ago, Bregir said: Certainly, I cannot be the only one to chuckle at the prospect of fixing economical problems by building a garden? Haha, probably paid horse-parking nearby for visitors? I bet they can ask for like 1Db/hr easily, with how little parking space there is! ;)(I am now actually inclined to make a Horse/Coach "parking" too... Yet another thing to add to the idea list! :P) Quote
LM71Blackbird Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 A nice little garden. I like the design and those tall trees. Quote
