Personally, I don’t mind the made-up vehicles and locations, but they should at least come with some new minifigs here and there! I can’t think of any other licensed theme that only introduced one new non-brick-built character across 5 sets *huh*

It’s a smaller theme, sure, but so is Fortnite and that gets tons of new characters with novel specialised pieces! Maybe next year

Genuinely curious as to how you see the popularity of other characters and whether it makes sense for LEGO to make them. I only know Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik (and metal sonic, although the silver one from Sonic 2), but clearly other characters are part of the more recent (last 25 years) of media. To a casual fan, what characters are missing that would be a draw to new sets, compared to sticking with the core set they have already introduced?

Any, I would say :snicker: Look at other themes, where even the most obscure and random characters are treated as selling points! I think a set with let’s say Sonic, Knuckes, and Cream would easily outsell the identical set with Tails instead of Cream. Having recognisable characters is important, but new ones increase collectability and might even introduce casual fans to characters they weren’t familiar with before!

Yes, very good point!
