I was able to find an unopened Death Egg Robot set for a bit under the original retail price, so I went ahead and ordered it. Now to wait for it to arrive...

The brickbuilt figure does rather off from what I've seen in pictures. I definitely don't see myself using that as my main Eggman, especially now that I'll have the minifigure version soon.

Curiously, I think I prefer the brick built version! The minifigure one doesn't seem like the right proportions, and almost feels a bit too detailed for the size.

But then, as I mentioned before, I've only played Sonic 1 and 2 and haven't seen any of the movies. I suspect the minifigure version is more accurate to newer games.

I attempted to bring Lego Sonic and Eggman to normal minifigure height once. I wanted them not to stand out next to Maria and GUN soldiers. Though I succeeded with Eggman, Sonic is still an unsolved mystery for me 

If Sonic and co. are normal minifigures though, I understand the preference of a brick-built Eggman

I now have a Death Egg Robot set on the way. There's a decent chance I'll pick up the Biolizard at some point eventually. The Egg Drillster probably depends on if I can get a good enough deal on it, now that Super Sonic is no longer exclusive to it.

Quite fond of the Shadow Escape set for some reason, all I had to do was give Shadow his beloved gun and it was perfect for me. Cheap price, desirable minifigure, fun builds, pretty much an excellent starter set for the theme aside from Sonic's speed sphere challenge

I was able to order the Amy's Animal Rescue Island set for under $35, so that's another set I now have on the way.

The Shadow Escape set was one of the first I picked up for the theme, and I agree that it was definitely a fun little set to start with.

on twitter and ig there s pics 4 another new set. in february there s gonna be a set with the number 40781

it includes the turtle animal friend and a giant crabmeat with a base its 9+ and has 181 pieces

I was able to get a good deal on the Sonic's Speed Sphere Challenge, as well as the Ideas set. Both are pretty neat additions to my collection, though I might've passed on getting the Speed Sphere Challenge if I hadn't found it for significantly lower than the retail price. I underestimated how many 1x1 plates the Ideas set had, but it added quite a bit of extra detail.

As of now, my collection consists of:

• Ideas Green Hill Zone

• Kiki's Coconut Attack (x4)

• Sonic's Speed Sphere Challenge

• Amy's Animal Rescue Island

• Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman's Death Egg Robot

• Shadow's Escape

• Sonic's Campfire Clash

I'll have to see how the summer wave ends up looking.

Neat. I picked up Tails' Lab and Tornado for 9 bucks at my Walmart
My sets atm are, Ideas Green Hill Zone, Death Egg Robot, Shadow Escape, Knuckles Mech, Amy's Island, Kiki's Coconut, and Tails' Lab and Tornado.
There is hope that Tails' Mech vs Metal Sonic will go on discount so prob gonna wait for that before getting it.

Looks like a new Sonic Racing game has been announced...

I wonder if LEGO will attempt to make anything based on it next year, considering the vehicles seem like they'd translate into sets fairly easily.

I'd totally support it since it's our best shot at getting Jet and Sage, a handful of $15 sets with a main vehicle, a smaller one for the likes of an egg pawn (like a bike or extreme gear) and 2 minifigures sounds like the most realistic way for this new game to have tie in sets

If we were to get a Sage figure, do you think she'd have a specially molded head, or do you think she'd be a normal minifig? Personally, I could see both working well, but a normal minfig could have a second face for when she turns blue...

I'm gonna have to go with a normal minifig head since having it be a double sided head for an alternate blue face sounds like a smart move

Considering that the budget for new molded parts seems limited enough already, I'd be perfectly fine with Sage getting a standard minifigure head, as I don't think she needs a new molded head nearly as much as most other characters in the series.

Honestly Sage's head is already kind of Minifig shaped so it would work for her. And we'd get a new hairpiece that other figs could use.

Now that I think about it, I'm not too sure if Sage would debut in these kinds of hypothetical sets since she's obviously way more connected to Frontiers than an upcoming racing game, a $100 Giganto would be perfect for her. The only character I can see having a chance to appear in some Crossroads sets would be Jet since racing as a character is his whole thing, and that's a stretch since he's not as popular as someone who has also yet to get the minifigure treatment like Cream or Big

An actual Giganto would definitely make for a more impressive set than the Giganto car from Crossworlds, even if the latter would be funny to see. Plus they could reuse the Super Sonic minifigure again.

Crossworlds having about 23 characters in its base roster should put a decent number back in the spotlight again.

Not that I‘d mind any if them, but some of the suggested characters are a bit out there. So far, they‘ve focussed on the core characters from the 90s snd early 2000s, so i doubt they‘d suddenly put the spotlight on characters introduced less than 3 years ago

I wouldn't throw any possibilities out of the window just yet. If they can make an +18 set based on Year of Shadow, then a regular tie-in set based on Crossroads with a new character doesn't sound completely strange

Picturing it as a three year theme:

• 2023: Sonic, Amy, Tails, Robotnik
• 2024: Shadow, Rouge, Knuckles, Super Sonic
• 2025: Super Shadow, Metal Sonic, ?, ?

If we are getting four characters in 2025 - I think it makes the most sense for it to be Big & Cream with molded pieces for Froggy and Cheese.

2026 then would have two main options:

• 20th Anniversary of Sonic 06 - Blaze, Silver, Super Silver, Mephiles
• Sonic Heroes remake tie-in - Vector, Espio, Charmy, Neo Metal Sonic

I wouldn't exactly call the Super Shadow minifigure new since he's the exact same as Normal Shadow only with a different main color, so we technically still have 3 slots left

Potentially, not sure how they work it out on their end. Still leaning to Big, Cream, Froggy and Cheese though. Unless the Summer Wave just focuses on repeats which is sadly also an option as they'll have to phase out some sets soon.
