Ngoc Nguyen Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 (edited) This model is a set with the code SY8613 from Sembo. The red car is apparently based on a Ferrari 488 GTE, the same subject of 42125, or at least a racing Ferrari. To me, this model looks way way better than the official Lego set, because the front in this model looks more unified, while that of 42125 looks fragmented and lacerated due to the unnatural curves of panels #50 and #51. Therefore, ever since I saw this model, I've always wanted to reconstruct it with Lego pieces. The problem with models like this is that the instructions are not available as PDF. I did this kind of reconstruction once, and I gotta rely on a quick build clip of a reviewer. There is none of that for this model though. Fortunately, the other day I came across a listing for a used copy, so I immediately bought the instruction. I'll start the reconstruction in a few days, after I finish building the 42145 Airbus in Studio. According to the instruction, this set has a functional steering wheel, a differential, brick built fake engine with no drive train or moving parts, and compatibility with remote control upgrades, which include an M motor, a Servo motor, a type of bluetooth/infrared small battery box. This model has 1206 pieces, which is kinda hard to believe, given that the largest car of this scale, McLaren, only has 800+ pieces. A couple of changes will have to be made, of course. Because there's no custom sticker sheet, I think I'll substitute pieces of the same color in to see how it goes. Some places can use the 2x3 middle panel. I'll also try to put a working engine in. If you're concerned that this type of thread does not belong here on Eurobricks, I did a thread like this once back in 2020 and got the greenlight for it already. (Also shamelessly promoting it ) Stay tuned for more updates. Edited July 3, 2023 by Ngoc Nguyen Quote

I don't think it's possible at this scale. In terms of functions I think it will be like the Senna. Maybe I'll add a HOG steering. Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Would love to see how this model compares to the 42125 Quote

1963maniac Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 Sorry, but in my opinion that car iis not as good looking as the Lego 42125 one. It does not have the right fenders (straight tops). That yellow technic beam across the top of the windshield looks ugly. The beam under the door is bad looking too! The whole side of the car looks blocky, not streamlined at all. The roof is flat, Yuck. Quote
Ngoc Nguyen Posted July 3, 2023 Author Posted July 3, 2023 (edited) Changed the title to hop on the TC25 hype! Cant believe I have been sitting on this model for a year. The reconstruction is almost complete, but I don't like some of the design choices in the original model, so I have to redesign them. I added a HOG steering knob and a functional V8 engine in the back. Currently working on rear diffusers. Edited July 3, 2023 by Ngoc Nguyen Quote
