NOD Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 This is a very beautiful part of the city! It is very well built and interesting to see the sales stands. Quote
MAB Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 This looks great. Nice build with a wonderful pop of colour, especially in the tower. Although my favourite bits are the birds adding a little bit of life way above the busy bazaar. Quote
GeoBrick Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Nice brick-build storks there. I see you build part of the mosque wall upside down to create this hanging effect of the ornamentation. Quote
Triceron Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Love it!Β Great greebling for the road. I'm a sucker for ancient Arabian/Persian settings, it's a shame they never formally made a theme out of it.Β The best you can get for the helmets is out of the Prince of Persia sets. Quote
hoppa Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 I showed this to my wife and she immediately said Marrakech! I guess it shows how well you've hit the mark! Quote
Feuer Zug Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 Stunning build. The attention to detail from the cobblestones to the top of the minaret is top notch. Quote
the Inventor Posted June 27, 2022 Author Posted June 27, 2022 @NODΒ Thanks. @MABΒ Thanks, really wanted to add some storks to the build as I saw them on some reference pictures I used. @GeoBrickΒ Thanks, Yeah I had to build parts upside down to get the desired effect, which was a bit tricky to figure out, but it looks great now. @TriceronΒ yeah we need some more/new Arabian sets for more specific parts. @hoppaΒ Thank you, I used a lot of reference pictures to get as close as possible for the size I was going for. @Feuer ZugΒ Thanks. LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted July 1, 2022 Posted July 1, 2022 Beautiful glimpse of oriental architecture. I like the design of the arches and their decorations. The fountain has an amazing water effect! Quote
MontyMatte Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Wow. You almost feel like you are there. Especially like the floors and the (classic) palm trees in combination with more modern trees. Excellent. Quote
the Inventor Posted July 10, 2022 Author Posted July 10, 2022 @MontyMatteΒ Thanks, I used many reference pictures to build it. Quote
Yperio_Bricks Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 This is such a beautiful build! The architecture, the colors, all the details! Simply beautiful Quote

tiledfloor Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 Wow, one of the best system builds I've ever seen! I especially like the archways on the bottom right, they reming me of a modern warfare 3 multiplayer map. The small wooden supports sticking out also add a very special flavor of realism to the build. Quote
the Inventor Posted July 28, 2022 Author Posted July 28, 2022 Thanks @tiledfloor. @MontyMatteΒ Indeed it was. Β But after seeing some more entries in the summer joust contest I redid the photo and background editing: Sunset at the bazaar by Ids de Jong, on Flickr Quote
brimbolet Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Wow, how could I've missed that a month ago, I really don't know. Brilliant model and the last picture looks magnificent. Deserves to be on the front page! Quote
the Inventor Posted July 30, 2022 Author Posted July 30, 2022 @brimbolet yeah you can miss it when a lot of new topics are created or someone replies to a bunch of older topics at once. But thanks for your comment, I also very pleased with how the last picture turned out. Quote
dignow Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 So many creative details - stunning MOC - thanks! Quote
