[MOC] Lost on the bazaar at sunset (updated)

Many traveler visit the famous bazaar of the north west, bringing and selling all kinds of goods and animals.

Inspired by various Moroccan buildings such as:

- Ait ben Haddou / Ait Benhaddou
- Kasbah Mosque
- Ben Salah Mosque

 

Build for the Summer Joust 2022 African setting category.

This is a very beautiful part of the city! It is very well built and interesting to see the sales stands.

This looks great. Nice build with a wonderful pop of colour, especially in the tower. Although my favourite bits are the birds adding a little bit of life way above the busy bazaar.

Nice brick-build storks there.
I see you build part of the mosque wall upside down to create this hanging effect of the ornamentation.

Love it!  Great greebling for the road.

I'm a sucker for ancient Arabian/Persian settings, it's a shame they never formally made a theme out of it.  The best you can get for the helmets is out of the Prince of Persia sets.

I showed this to my wife and she immediately said Marrakech! I guess it shows how well you've hit the mark!

Stunning build. The attention to detail from the cobblestones to the top of the minaret is top notch.

@MAB Thanks, really wanted to add some storks to the build as I saw them on some reference pictures I used.

@GeoBrick Thanks, Yeah I had to build parts upside down to get the desired effect, which was a bit tricky to figure out, but it looks great now.

@Triceron yeah we need some more/new Arabian sets for more specific parts.

@hoppa Thank you, I used a lot of reference pictures to get as close as possible for the size I was going for.

Beautiful glimpse of oriental architecture.

I like the design of the arches and their decorations.

The fountain has an amazing water effect!

Especially like the floors and the (classic) palm trees in combination with more modern trees.

Wow, one of the best system builds I've ever seen! I especially like the archways on the bottom right, they reming me of a modern warfare 3 multiplayer map. The small wooden supports sticking out also add a very special flavor of realism to the build.
