Jundis Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 (edited) Hi guys and gals, after mulling about different ideas, I stick to my favorite theme... tractors :D Started with the transformation and driving of the 81 tractor wheels first, I came up with the idea of using the Buwizz3's LEDs to give this beast, which is loosely based on old soviet tractors, two eyes. The transformation action is done by a PU L-motor. This one has to be placed slightly to the left, therefor this thing moves in circles... but has a white superhero cape for compensation! Still stuck on the construction of the (non-steered) front wheels, since the have to provide enough stability for the transformation action AND should be placed sideways as arms while in robo-mode. Any ideas are warm welcomed, as this movement is really hard to be done with only 1 motor available. Kind regards Edited January 29, 2022 by Jundis Quote
1gor Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Since you put a title with name of singer who was actual author of stranger in the night, I'll follow this with interest. Quote
GerritvdG Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Cool transformation, there is a lot going on in that compact chassis. I like the wobbling mechanism! Quote

Thanks guys :-) I am really stuck with the mechanics for the front wheels. I'd need such a strange movement I don't think is possible with one motor... :-/ Quote
1gor Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 Since I can't plan my free time I didn't plan to enter the contest and didn't bother to read criteria for contest...if only one motor is allowed, then you'll need indeed clever linkage system to install features that you planned... Quote
Jundis Posted January 29, 2022 Author Posted January 29, 2022 (edited) Finally the parts arrived in time and I could finish this model. I actually didn't managed that it stands on its own with the front axle attached and the mechanism to spread out the front wheels as arms was way to unstable. Therefor our dear Ivo needs a rollator in his old years... Edited January 29, 2022 by Jundis Quote
1gor Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Unusual transformer indeed. As (wannabe) tractor builder I really like the idea 💡 Quote
Zerobricks Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 One of the most unique tranformers indeed, I really it! Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Very clever and looks superb. Great job. Quote

Thanks guys :-) I am not completely satisfied with the model cause I didn't achieve the self-stabilizing action while transformation, but I hope the story about the rollator made up for it ;D Quote
1gor Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Look like this; it could be described as transformer (dancing) tractor. Quote
Good old Lego builder Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Well done, I really like this one. Very clever. Quote
