Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

With Super Heroes being such a character focused theme (it's all about the super heroes after all), if any theme were to get multiple minifig based D2C sets, it would make sense to me if it's super heroes. But I feel like it's just setting myself up for disappointment to expect more than one (before any concrete rumors arrive.)

Wow, this is very exciting! 
 

I really like the Gargantos set but I did think it needed something grounded for this tentacled monstrosity to attack - putting some of those tendrils through doors and windows could be really fun. 
 

A small part of me always regretted missing the infinity war Sanctum - it would be really cool if this one could be put next to the Diagon Alley buildings 

Also I guess this is where we’ll finally get Doctor Strange Supreme?!

Unfortunately that isn't him in the trailer. Don't think that's a spoiler, his name has been officially revealed: it's Sinister Strange.

Indeed. I don't know why people keep insisting that Strange Supreme is in the trailers  Not only is the costume completely different, Supreme has also been

redeemed in the finale of S1

He kind of looked like SS without his cool cape, and I think he may have been intended to resemble him, so I can see the confusion.

That's a whole different case, because this rumour has actually been backed up by various reliable and established leakers.

Assuming the rumored minifig lineup is correct, it will be interesting to see if Iron Man and Spider-Man are based on Multiverse of Madness or past movies since the other figures (Wanda, Mordo, and three Strange variants) all seem to be based on Multiverse of Madness.

Modular Sanctum and Avengers Tower in the same year seems unbelievable/incredible. If Sanctum is true (which Im halfway through a MOC version which Im pushing towards the bin as I type ), I want to believe the $500 set is NWH Statue of Liberty set (I cant think of anything else a $500 set could be than those two sets at least that Id want).

Consider me intrigued!

Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if leakers are cagey with figures this time because they have some huge spoilers. It would be another Civil War Giant Man moment.

People thought this may be like NWH where they didn’t give toy companies any spoiler toys, but that may not be the case this time.

I was just thinking how much sense the Sanctum made for that set number earlier after someone mentioned it. Too few pieces and too low a price to be the Avengers Tower, but then also too big and pricey to really be many other things. 

Personally, I'm stoked. Spider-Man and Doctor Strange are my two favourite superheroes, so I love that they're the two characters to get the first superhero modulars. 

I also love both the comic and movie designs, so whichever way it swings (movie, from what everyone's saying) is fine by me. 

I do have the previous Sanctum, but I guess I'll just close it up and only have Pete's apartment on display. My dream of a little Lego Marvel New York is becoming more realistic day by day!

Minifigure scale D2C for Sanctrum would be awesome since Doctor Strange is one of my favorite heroes (next to Captian America and Thor). 

Is it rumored it would be based on comic books, instead of movies? LIke Daily Bugle is based on comics.

It's rumored to be based on the movies. Particularly the new Doctor Strange movie releasing the same month (May).

Crazy. I hope they do interesting characters than we already get in some form. 

Would love to get a new Wanda because she’s pretty sinister in her updated outfit.

Mordo is no brainer as we already see the hair?

Strange variant/s is underwhelming but we’ll see how the movie will use them (I’ve read plot leaks that turns out right when the 2nd trailer was released) 

Spiderman - is it gonna be Tom’s? Or maybe even Tobey as per rumors.

Ironman - another character that is rumor played by a different actor or just giving an easter egg for IW.

I’m excited at the same time keeping it down low. I hope insiders have more than back up info other than just the hair. It’s okay if they cannot share it yet, but I hope it’s not just that hair leak.

I heard that the variants don't mean Infinity Saga Strange (for his outfit), so it likely is Sinister and Defender strange.

Toby Spiderman. One because Raimi is directing, two because they could reuse his figure for NWH sets down the line.

I don’t mean to be a Debbie downer but I highly doubt that the iron man and Spider-Man figures are “tobey and Tom cruise” just because it is releasing right when the movie is coming out so that would get leaked, they are pretty much the two heroes besides strange who were in the previous sanctum set and have ties to strange from infinity war. Just don’t get your hopes up. I’m sure this will encompass many mcu movies

I have heard different things about Spider-man, including him being relevant to the movie. Iron Man is up in the air, but when every other character may be from MoM...

Regarding Iron Man, I would say its a toss up between...

Tom Cruise and Bruce Campbell, though Tom is more likely. The variant is definitely Superior Iron Man though, so it will be interesting to see if it's a helmet or a tiara

There’s been sets before where it encompasses more than one film. I’m not trying to argue. Of course I’d want new figures but just don’t get your hopes up

Since the set sounds as if it's releasing after the film, it would likely contain spoilers. And based on the trailer, it seems like Mordo is part of the Illuminati, so if he's in the set, I hope to get more Illuminati members. Not just an Iron Man variant, but also hopefully Professor X or Captain Marvel.
