The lack of rogue one helmets is surprising. You'd think they would fit right alongside the other imperial ones- sell better than the Dark Troopers and Boushh, at the very least.

More shuttles are very welcome.

Solo wave- I thought it would be hard to come up with set material, but it was actually hard to limit the sets as much as I did. I really wanted to include a buildable Lady Proxima somewhere but there just wasn't room.

At-Hauler Microfighter ($14.99): Rio Durant

Lando Calrissian Mech ($14.99): Designed to resemble his paint job for the falcon (with a cape on the mech, of course): Comes with Lando Calrissian

Imperial Patrol Speeder ($9.99): Patrol Trooper, Han Solo (Corellia)

Limited Edition: Conveyex Chase ($199.99): Conveyex train (front car, rear car, and 4 middle cars- a vault car, guard station, gunnery car with armory below, and engineering car) as well as a modular track with a probe droid "nest" on one side containing an explode feature. Yes to these! Haven’t thought about Solo for a while, but these would go down well!

Ironically, we need Star Wars content to really slow down for these to return, or a change in strategy that gives more options for traditional sets.

My guesses as to the figure selections for this upcoming august wave:

Evil C-3PO Mech ($14.99): Evil C-3PO

GNK Droid Battle Pack ($19.99): Since buildable characters seem to not fall under the "no minifig packs" rule, my guess is that this is actually a pack of around 20 GNK droids.

Luke's Landspeeder ($34.99): Luke Skywalker, Biggs Darklighter, R2-D2.

SRE (single repulsor enginer) fighter ($49.99): SRE Pilot, Suntrooper, Republic Officer, Luke Starkiller (Pilot)

416th Star Corps battle pack ($54.99, build is allegedly a BARC speeder and crab droid): 4x 416th clone trooper, 2x b3 battle droid.

Paid Employee 1 ($119.99): Sheriff Fett, Endangered Species Protector Bossk, Dengar with luscious hair, droid humanist IG-77, 5-LOM, and Zuckuss (exactly the same as the main universe version)

Evil Gunship ($149.99): 2x P2 Unique Pilot, Shadow Rex, Evil Ahsoka, 2x 332nd Unique Trooper, 2x Good Mauldalorian (They have halos instead of horns on their helmets).

Airspeeder/earthspeeder/waterspeeder/stonespeeder 4-pack ($219.99): Airspeeder pilot Le Wa, Earthspeeder pilot Onu A, waterspeeder pilot Ga Li, Stonespeeder pilot Po Hatu, and then pilots for the previous icespeeder/snowspeeder (Ko Poka) and firespeeder (Ta Hu).

Life Star ($999.99): KZ-6 Rudeness droid, Regional Manager Motti, Counterintelligence Officer Yularen, Evil R2-D2, R6-T7, Morally Ambigous C-3PO, Evil Chewbacca, Jedi Vader, Architect Krennic, Chancellor Palpatine, Quality Control Officer Erso, Commander Tagge, General Tarkin, Evil Han Solo, Evil Han Solo (Suntrooper disguise), Ice Bath Suntrooper, Republic Crew, Republic Crew (Ponytail cap), Republic Diplomat (Minister of Funny Hats), 2x Republic Shield Generator Operator, 1x Republic Navy officer, 2x Republic Marine, 2x Republic Commoner Guard, 1x Republic Shuttle Pilot, 6x Suntrooper, Dr. Ball, Luke Starkiller (Jedi Knight), Luke Starkiller (Suntrooper disguise), Luke Starkiller (Tatooine), Rat Droid, Evil Obi-Wan "Young Jamin" Kenobi, Countess Leia.

Loved the Speeder Bike design in the recent Maul episodes this week.

Would be the perfect build for a TK Stormtrooper BP, or something similar.

It was awesome, it honestly looks like a mix between the Solo imperial bikes and the more standard style. I wonder if it's an early version of the ones we see in Solo.

Some Maul sets:

Imperials vs Mandalorians Battle Pack ($19.99): 2x TK Trooper, 2x Blackout Mando. Build is an Imperial Patrol Speeder (Janix variant)

Shadow Collective Chase ($79.99): Maul's Speeder Truck and a Janix Patrol Speeder with Scorn, Icarus, Kebris, Vario, Lawson, and Two-Boots.

Aka'jor Shuttle ($89.99): Includes Lord Maul,  Rook Kast, Devon, Master Daki, Marrok, and the First Brother.

Thanks- I imagine many would, it's vexing that lego seemingly has no immediate plans for the show.

I had to go back and check where I was- I think Clone Wars? Though I count the Siege of Mandalore as a movie, so it'll go first:

Gauntlet Starfighter Microfighter ($14.99): Bo-Katan

Captain Rex Mech ($14.99): Captain Rex

Mandalorian Civil War Battle Pack ($19.99): 1x male Mauldalorian, 1x female Mauldalorian, 1x male loyalist, 1x female loyalist. Build is a balutar-class swoop and a small representation of the wing-blast rocket pack from legends.

Duel over Mandalore ($9.99): A scene representing the duel in the dome rafters with a function to "slice through" one of the beams to drop a figure down. Comes with Ahsoka Tano and Lord Maul.

Siege of Mandalore ($29.99): destructable Mandalore terrain and underground tunnel entrance with Gar Saxon, Bo-Katan, and Captain Vaughn.

Battle of Yerbana ($49.99): Corporate Alliance tank, droid command center, and barricade with Anakin Skywalker, 2x Clone Jet Trooper, a Super Tactical Droid, and 2x b1 battle droid.

Captain Rex's Y-wing Starfighter ($69.99): Captain Rex, Ahsoka Tano (cloak), and ARC Trooper Jesse

Headhunter Starfighter vs Tri-fighter ($89.99): Comes with 2x buzz droid, a headhunter pilot, 2x 212th trooper, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Commander Cody.

Mandalorian Gauntlet Starfighter ($109.99): Comes with Gar Saxon, Maul, Lady Kast, Ahsoka Tano, and Minister Almec.

Republic Cruiser- Crash Course Moon ($179.99): Comes with microscale hanger in the center with interior bridge and briefing room on one side and medical bay/storage room on the other. Includes Ahsoka Tano, Captain Rex, Maul, R7-A7, 1x 501st trooper, 1x 332nd trooper, and 1x shiny trooper

Limited Edition: Clone Transport Shuttle ($199.99): The cargo variant of the clone transport shuttle. Includes 2x P2 clone pilot, Bo-Katan Kryze, Maul, Ahsoka, and 2x Shock Trooper.

Gar Saxon Bust ($59.99): Gar Saxon

332nd trooper Helmet ($69.99):

Midi-Scale Battle of Yerbana ($89.99): Yerbana bridge build with midi-scale AATs, AT-TEs, etc.

UCS Gauntlet Starfighter ($349.99): Comes with Lady Kast and Maul.

I still don’t know how this hasn’t been released.

The only thing I’d want from S7 is the Mint coloured Clone Pilot.

Right, where do we see LSW by 2030?

Separately, what would LSW need to be and/or do to be in a better position?

Finally, what’s your ideal point for LSW?

My answers are:

1. Adults welcome moves into a new direction, display remains the focus. Skyline style sets (I.e Apple, NewYork) are released including Cloud City, Hoth, and Endor, as are Star Wars monuments which are mid-scale locations such as the Jedi Temple, the Death Star, and Starkiller Base. Helmets and mid-scale starships/vehicles remain with 1-2 released each year. This also includes another avenue where Smart brick sets which are well-integrated into the theme with vast improvements in sound quality and accuracy, design, cost, and the operational workings of smart bricks such as charger capacity and availability.

2. A better balance between display and play, interior and exterior, and less corner cutting measures including reducing the number of stickers, more accurate or more new moulds, and better interiors. The value proposition needs to be better. A more favourable ratio for traditional LEGO sets compared with smart brick technology, and Adults Welcome sets.

3. Affordable, play-scale sets become the norm once again. A greater emphasis on niche areas of the Skywalker saga. Better battle packs. A new sub-theme of 16+ sets which serve as a bridge between flagship playscale and UCS (more Tantive IV 2019). A desire to release versions of sets which are the best version of that set they can do, which includes nailing the price point.

You’d have thought an ISD is on the way, perhaps we may get Thrawn’s?

We can kind of track why we haven't as of yet had an ISD- it started with the midi-scale Executor, then the Venator this january, which both occupy very similar slots.

Good list- I'd never considered this one specifically, but it would be pretty cool.

No idea. We've had multiple $70ish clone starfighters, we've had Rex, and it's been forever since the last Y-wing. Now I'd prefer we get a rebel one in 2027 for ANH's 50th, but at the end of the day I honestly do think the different eras, color schemes, and figure selections mean you could have both in the same year if, say, you were to put the rebel Y-wing in a 2-pack with the Advanced.

I do like his design.

I really hope 1 does not happen, the last thing we need are more of these other-scale 18+ sublines.

2 is all I want. If they can do that, everything else will follow.

I'll be optimistic and answer all three questions with the same- what I believe is the right move for the theme.

A year consists of four major waves and one minor drop:

January: A wave of small and mid-range sets. The variety would be roughly 1/3 each for the OT, Prequels/TCW, and Mandoverse/Sequels, with the occasional set for something more obscure and/or small new content drops. All sets are real system playsets, with the exception of 1 microfighter or mech.

May: Dedicated 18+ wave where the yearly helmets, busts, midi-scale ships, etc are released, alongside the May UCS.

August: The second major wave, focused on mid-range sets as well as the year's system/playscale heavy hitters. The same ratio is followed as in january in terms of source material.

(Minor drop) October: Minor drop of the Advent Calendar, fall UCS, and a holiday exclusive set.

Flex: A third system set wave that flexes based on whatever the biggest piece of new content is that year. If it's a movie, it's a dedicated wave for that movie, but for shows it may be split up.

Oh, and obviously Smart Brick is discontinued.
