FriedlS Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 I got the 42123 McLaren and decided to build a rc version of it. Here is my actual step: It has got no suspension but positive caster angle at the front. 😊  Quote
Woodstock pl Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 This looks good! How well does it drive? I like how you’ve kept the body original. Quote

I'm pretty shure, that in background it is original. 12 hours ago, FriedlS said: Here is my actual step: You need to improve steering gear connection to rack, it will disconnect. Quote

You are right, in the background it is original, of course Yes, i have improved the steering already :) McLaren RC WIP #3 by Friedl St, auf Flickr   Quote
Jurss Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Yes it is some kind of improvement, but still those gears can easily move away from gear rack. Maybe it is not critical for this laod, but anyway. Quote
1963maniac Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 What is the motor you are using for steering? Quote

FriedlS Posted February 20, 2021 Author Posted February 20, 2021 (edited) So the back side is finished (in my opinion 😉) and the rc components have found their place: McLaren RC WIP #7 by Friedl St, auf Flickr  McLaren RC WIP #8 by Friedl St, auf Flickr  About the front i am thinking about it to solve it:  McLaren RC WIP #9 by Friedl St, auf Flickr   Edited February 20, 2021 by FriedlS Quote

I'm wanting to get what it looks like you wanted: more power in a lighter weight package (especially for the buggy motor). One question; does the white wire end of the battery connect to a charger? I'm trying to understand this kind of battery better (two wires). I'm also assuming this a LiPo battery. Quote

Yes it is a 3s LiPo and the white connector is for the balancing wire at the charger. And also important when using it you should connect a LiPo warner to it, which warns you when the cell voltage is under 3.3V Quote
FriedlS Posted February 23, 2021 Author Posted February 23, 2021 So now i have finished it. 😊 What do you think? McLaren RC #1 by Friedl St, auf Flickr  McLaren RC #3 by Friedl St, auf Flickr  McLaren RC #2 by Friedl St, auf Flickr  and a short clip:  Quote
