TechnicBrickPower Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 A 1023 speed gearbox has been built into a large remote controlled car chassis. The car can be steered and driven via remote control using two channels. The gears can be manually changed using ten selectors that drive ten differentials. This allows for one of 1023 different speeds to be selected to set the car's forward and reverse speeds. The car drives well on carpet as well as a smooth surface. It uses 4 large 10cm diameter wheels and a medium sized motor for the steering mechanism. The main drive is from a large power functions motor. The gearbox functions are explained in detail. Quote
astyanax Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 Haha well done! Though my first thought was: "Wow that's a lot of differentials!" Quote
2GodBDGlory Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 Wow! The gearbox is impressive, and although it is probably too impractical for realistic model cars, it is fun to see it in this form! Quote
Gray Gear Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 Yeah I guess that's something you can do...I think Ill stick to my 6speed manual gearbox tho Quote

What if it had reverse? Quote
