Hi everyone,

At LowLUG was a member, who wanted to see more Castle at the forum and he wanted to build Castle.

He started a contest on the forum.

The rules were simple, build a Castle on a 32x32 baseplate.

This fortress is located in the mountains.

There is a small tunnel that leads to the tower.

The knight known as 'the Bear' is preparing the men for an attack.

Sorry for the background, I am looking for a replacement. :sceptic:

For more pictures please look into my Flickr album.

I like the tan bricks for the rock work.  Very nice clean build on the castle.  I like the dark grey tiles accenting the walls and the tower.  Nice interior and some good looking figs too.

Thanks guys! :classic:

The use of 1x2 tiles for the walls, is something I borrowed from a Castle shown at Lego World (NL) last year.

I just wanted the rocks in another color than DBG. Since last year I have a lot of Dark Tan slopes.

That's a beautiful design!

I love the roof and the mix of Light (B) Grey and Dark (B) Grey for the walls.

Excellent work in small space, specially including the interior.

Cheers!

What he said!  I'm also really liking your move with dark tan as the base instead of the usual rockwork that tends to blend in   And those are some fantastic parts uses with the Tudor section in the back!

Lovely castle! The winding stairs leading to the entrance are a fabulous technique
Nice work making the layout more interesting by incorporating height difference in the terrain too :classic:

Looks very pretty :) could you please tell me how you made the wooden triangle structure? That looks stunning.

Thanks. :classic:

The Minecraft parts below are attached to plate, modified 2x2x2/3 with 2 studs on side.

The 1x8 tiles are attached to a brick with 1 stud on side four bricks higher and 2 studs aside (below the second brick modified 1x2x1 1/3 with curved top).

The Minecraft part in the top is attached to a Headlight brick (oriented on his side). The Headlight brick is 2 plates below the cone.

I hope that the explanation makes sense.

Otherwise I have to take some pictures of it.

Thank you @Garmadon and @LEGO Train 12 Volts:classic:

I know you've build a lot of great/stunning/inspirational Castle builds.

Thanks for the compliment! :classic:

I wanted something else in the front. The 3x6 wedges was something I came up with.

It fits, but the 2x6 wedge (in the rock) pushes the stairs a bit from the wall.

Yeah, I like it a lot! Some nice details, and building technics. Only in some pictures there is a lil bit too much out of focus, for my taste. But that does nothing to that great build.

Color choices here are sweet.  The tan base is a bit unusual and works really well and the 1x2 dark bley tiles create a neat effect as others have stated.
