Per the PROMOBRICKS description, the Hidden Side Portal includes four Minifigs - Three of which are Blue Jack and two red ghosts. Blue Parker would be a logical fourth Minifig.

The Hidden Side Portal looks like a dark Harry Potter version of Aragog's hideout - but without a huge spider, but with a darker tree. Exactly this tree is supposed to represent the portal. Where will this portal lead? Maybe the light blue and thus frosty-looking treetop reveals this. But the minifigure of Jake is very cold. What's a little irritating about this set are the two fire ghosts - Nexo Knights sends greetings.

Yeah but I was hoping the fourth would be a yellow or blue ghost, to add some variety. Even a green one.

A piace that can bend the torso sideways, probably attaching to the legs on one end and to the torso on the other.
The forest will have probably bright blue leaves and black moss leaves, 3 enemies and  Jack.

Sets look very promising to me.

Please remind all of this come from non definitive pictures so anything can change in the final version.

If that were the case, though, it would have been mentioned in the description. ?

Probably the reason that the Blue Parker Minifig was not referenced, is that Parker's standard outfit and hair are already close enough in colour to Jack's ghostly blue look, such that whoever saw the sets simply did not notice the difference.

That is not what happened to Cole. If you ever watched the show Danny Phantom it's similar to that, because he got fused with ghost DNA. And Phantom was still a live (a good show if anyone hasn't watched it yet).

 I jest, but by definition ghosts are dead people. It's so funny that LEGO tried to tiptoe around the dying part but still have a character become a ghost!

In amongst the whole “has Jack died/been ghostified/gloomed*/just been locked in a cold freezer for a bit” debate, don’t forget that in one of the HS animated shorts (where J&P check out Newbury Manor), Jack is temporarily possessed by the bat ghost thing on the ceiling.
 

So it’s clear spooky things can happen to heroes that aren’t permanent or too dark for kids. Same with Clay turning to living stone in S3/4 of Nexo.

It’s a Popobawa, or Bawa for short. The same boss ghost as appears in the Ghost Train set. It’s an evil bat spirit from Zanzibar.

Actually, the rollercoaster has two ghost clowns, the underground entrance one that looks with the leg piece of the sandman and that rocky monsters from Nexo, the lighthouse 2, the plane at least one if not two, the buggy one with a piece that allows two heads.and well that's is since the rest of the sets are from june and I don't know them.

Sounds good. By ghosts I assume you mean civilians who get possessed by ghosts? And the subway has a mining that gets leg swapped? Awesome.

Looks like the era of leaked retail catalogues is over now... it shall be missed  TLG’s crackdown on retailers has eventually started to work. I faintly remember them adding individualised watermarks to the catalogues a few years ago so that the culprits could be traced back, but it‘s apparently only started to be effective recently. I wonder what changed

Apparently (a local independent retailer near me) there have been some heavy-handed cease and desist type warning letters sent out for leaks and breaching embargo dates. Biting the hand that feeds them just it isn’t worth the hassle.

When did Lego ever claim this (apart from a long, long time ago, before the first official minifigure skeletons)? The theme this topic is actually about is practically all about death, being a ghost-hunting theme.

You might be confusing Lego's policy on modern warfare being depicted in sets, but that is specifically against modern weaponry and military equipment. That's less about death and more about a particular form of violence that could very easily hit too close to home for many members of Lego's global audience.

Exactly. Some of the ghost bios in the app even specifically discuss how the ghost died. For example;

Ben “Batter” Jackson.

Holds the Home Run record for the Crazy Crays. He died trying to catch a ball in his mouth.

It's always been pretty clear that Lego Ideas has different guidelines than Lego in general. The Ideas guidelines are not just about what Lego themselves are willing to consider producing, but also keeping the Lego Ideas community positive by ruling out controversial topics, or ones that hew too close to the border of what Lego would consider acceptable. Part of it is also that where the line gets drawn internally might be too dependent on context to write into a succinct overarching and public-facing policy.

In the case of Hidden Side, it's worth mentioning that all the deaths alluded to are part of the backstory, not part of scenarios explicitly depicted in the sets themselves. Like including a minifigure skeleton in a dungeon scene, that kind of allusion to death and danger is a lot different than explicitly depicting a murder or death in a set proposal.
