Zerobricks Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Hi Your base plates are not aligned. Use the Connected selection tool and reattach all the problematic baseplates. Best regards Quote
Dump Posted June 23, 2018 Author Posted June 23, 2018 Good morning, Zerobricks. Thank you for your quick answer Until now I have not been able to solve the problem. The entire outside of the tenniscourt is 1 level too low. Is there an example on the intenet how to use the connetion tool by steps? Greatings from Holland. Quote
Calabar Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 Hi Dump and welcome to Eurobricks. My first suggestion is to modify topic's title (editing the first post), in order to focus on the real problem. A generic request for help could not attract a user that could help you and will not be helpful for other users that could have the same problem in the future. About your problem, I suggest you a simple "strategy": - Select all the model except the two baseplates (you can use the classic selection rectangle) - Cut the model (CTRL+X), all will vanish but will be stored in memory - Drag the baseplates and place them as you prefer, without other elements it should be easy to avoid the "different levels" problem you describe. - Paste the model (CTRL+V) and place it on the baseplates To avoid problems, try this on a copy of your lxf file, maintaining the original one as backup. Dump Posted June 23, 2018 Author Posted June 23, 2018 Hi Calabar. Thanks for your answers. I have made a download link of my .lfx file https://www.datafilehost.com/d/38956518 I have tried to do your suggestions and it works as you told. But without a sollution for me. I have delete the whole green outside and started again with a coppy of the green base from 3 and 4. I have an attachment in this topic of my screenshot for asking my questions. Number 1 and 2 are correct (see the grey brick) The two grey bricks at 3 and 4 are at the same high because I see no differents in level of the bricks But I can not place a brick on the border between 3 and 4. (see the virtual try) It is a mirracle for me but I am a beginner. What is the problem here. I suggest that its me!!!! can you help me? Quote
SylvainLS Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 (edited) (Re)Move the baseplate, put the bricks that should join the baseplates, add the baseplate back, it will connect with the bricks and be at the right height / the same height as the other baseplates. You can then remove the bricks if you don’t want them (in that case, they are called “scaffolding bricks”: they just serve to place other parts). The “ground” is where the lowest part is. If you have parts lying around that are below the baseplates, any new baseplate will go on their level, not the other baseplates’ level. It’s easy to have this problem. Putting parts on the ground, unconnected, will often lead to this. When you do complex builds, you need to remember to connect your parts (as it’s done in official instructions for instance), not put two parts way apart and then hope the parts you pile on each side will then gently connect when they meet. They should connect but, as you experienced, sometimes they don’t because you forgot one part somewhere or miscalutated or a part was misplaced or rotated and it moved the ground down. Dump Posted June 23, 2018 Author Posted June 23, 2018 Hi SylvainLS. Is it an solution when I go through my entire project and see which baseplate are different from the others? And in the following way. I take 1 brick and put them on each plate on the borders in the North, South, East and West. When that is possible the baseplate is on the corrrect level. If not, I delete him. But. I think I have to remove all the bricks who are on the wrong baseplate. Is this right? Greatings of Holland. Quote
Calabar Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 The important thing is that you understood the problem and why it happens. SylvainLS explained it very well: 1 hour ago, SylvainLS said: The “ground” is where the lowest part is. If you have parts lying around that are below the baseplates, any new baseplate will go on their level, not the other baseplates’ level. Your baseplates are not aligned because you placed them in different moments when the "ground level" was different. So, when you build a new model, you have to be careful that the ground level don't change or that the new plates will be connected to something at the right level (for example a brick temporarily placed across the old and the new baseplate). Anyway this time you have to deal with an existing model, and I suppose you want to avoid to build it again from the scratch. If now you have understood how thing works, you should be able to fix the problem using the procedure I described you above. Ok, it is a little more complex because there are so many baseplates, but the main concept is the same. PS: I've seen you used many baseplates in your project. Note that LDD can't manage an infinite number of bricks and have specific difficulties with baseplates. So be careful with your creation or LDD will have troubles to run it very soon. PPS: don't forget to edit the title of the topic! Quote
Dump Posted June 23, 2018 Author Posted June 23, 2018 Dear LDD friends. I have understood what you have said. I could also perform the actions but without result. The comment that I once put pieces outside the baseplate were correct. And if I put bricks there then it goes wrong. What have I done? I created a whole new base plate next to my project. Everything removed except my house etc and then copied to the new base plate. Now everything has the same level and I can continue. Thanks for the tips because they helped me understand what I should look out for in the future. Greetings from the Netherlands. P.s. Where can I change the title topic. Quote
