No statistics have been revealed about this monster yet by it's makers, the geniuses and designers of Da Bricki Workshop, but rumors are that this machine packs a punch and will be truly unusual! Insert more announcer crap, superfluous speech, etc. etc. etc....

First of all, this model is going to be manual until I have a working prototype. Then, I will decide whether or not I have the time/space/ability to make it motorized with RC.

Functions:

1. Drive: The rear wheels will hopefully be driven by a mid-mounted fake V-6 or V-8 engine.

2. Steering: The front wheels will have HoG steering. Thanks @Sariel for the inspiration from his RC Tumbler for the steering solution!

3. Suspension: I am aiming to have all-wheel independent suspension with small hard shocks for the front and large hard shocks for the rear. Or maybe small hard shocks for the rear, I am still testing things...

4. The Strange Function: Still secret... But the name and photo below should provide a clue...

Leaked Photo in the Spoiler!

First TC12 topic!

Hum.... maybe like tumbler front wheel?

I guess so.... Didn't think I would be the first.... Similar, but the wheel goes to the outside....

Hey! Thanks for sharing! Stimulates for own creation. Good luck in this competition!

Oops... Didn't mean to encourage my competitors! Good luck to you!

Interesting...

Uh... Thanks? Not sure if that is a compliment, critique, an observation, or just plain thinking out loud.

That was fast! I haven't even put anything together yet - I'm still thinking... (and I also keep changing my ideas!)

Yeah, I decided on an idea for the build pretty quickly... I knew I was gonna use the Claas tires for sure, all I had to do next was make the racing machine. Just write out a list of them, then gradually cross out the ones that are not cool enough, hard to do, already taken...

Tonight I hope to have a prototype of the rear axle built, or at least more in brick then in my head.

Just a quick update for tonight: I have begun forming the chassis, so far it is not worth showing (plus my camera battery is dead) but tomorrow I will have photos of my progress. I did learn that the rear wheels and suspension will be much trickier than I thought previously, in order to accommodate my unusual function... Sorry I don't have anything to show for today! :look:

Update for today:

1. An apology: I said I would do this yesterday, then totally forgot to. My bad.

2. The chassis: Nowhere near as far as I was hoping to get yesterday, I had a ton of trouble with how I wanted to add the rear suspension and drivetrain and mystery function into the same suspended swing-arm... However, I am happy to report that I believe I have found a solution! See in the spoiler below. I hope to finish the rear swing-arm prototype today.

3. The bodywork: Hahahaha! Great joke! ... Yeah, not even started except for part gathering... See a pic in the spoiler.

Spoiler

The mechanism I plan to use:

The black half of the turntable will be fixed to the chassis. The gray half has the gear attached to it, when it is rotated, it moves the L-beam out.

This photo shows a bag of approximately 1000+ sand green parts... The best Lego Store haul I have ever gotten!

Tonight's Update:

1. I am making progress, though I cannot show it here, I have discovered several things that will NOT work... Ergo, I have found a possible method. It is not in bricks just yet, I need to see if I can even make it work before I show it off. I may need to significantly rework my mystery function in order for it to be successful, it requires a crap ton of moving parts, all of which need to be synchronized. So I could post a photo of a pile of randomly connected U-joints, Cardan joints, bevel gears, linear actuators and some shocks. But it shows nothing at all, and I plan to get somewhere tomorrow now that I have figured out what I need to do. Sorry there is nothing to show, I will have photos tomorrow for sure.

Tonight's Update:

Progress has been made! I figured out how to connect the rear wheel and driving axle to the swing arm, now I just have to figure out how to mount that to the chassis... Which still needs to be built. Crappy pics are in the spoiler, sorry for the poor quality. I should (hopefully) be getting a real photography background and some lights soon.

Happens to me also, it is ok for building process. Best ideas comes next morning.

But don't make car too serious, this contest is not about that, I think.

I am not taking this seriously, I want to have fun and try to push my abilities as a builder. I thought up what I think is a really cool function, and I hope to be able to implement it fully.

What a complex trasmission system...

No transmission or gearbox in this one. But there will be a fake engine. Probably. If I can fit it in...

Quick Update: First of all, sorry for going silent. I was busy, and I had made negative progress on my entry. I had most of a chassis figured out and was beginning fine-tuning my function.... Then I realized that I had made a major mistake, and had to undo nearly all the progress I have made so far. At the moment, the front arms will stay the same. I have a new idea for the rear that involves at least two, but probably four turntables.... Hopefully I will have photo of some progress late tonight. Stay tuned for more!

Last Update for Today: Well.... I have figured out how it all will work. Now I just need to put it all together. The whole swing arm will pivot around the turntable, the only issue is that I have to run two different driveshafts through the center of the pivot, so this will take some work. The photo below is a quick sketch of how I plan for it to fit, but that may not be how it goes...

True, it should be.... But this is Wacky Contest, so who cares?! In the U.S. it is pronounced the same.
