I like the Aragog set but there's no fang :sadnew:.

Was Fang there? I can't recall any important scenes in the films with him, only that he was at the forest detention in the books. I haven't seen the film in ages, but I never noted his presence, so I don't feel his loss if he was there.

Anywyay, it's definitely the best Aragog, but it's still at HBP scale. I don't know why he's so much smaller in the later film, but this isn't very imposing for the Chamber of Secrets appearance.

You are kidding? He goes with them to see Aragog, he’s in the car when they escape

Oh damn, it’s actual Just2Good ?, when’s ya Harry Potter CMF draft coming? I’m sure we’re all anticipating it! ?

Ha, I do want to do it! But my Patreon people who vote for it never vote for that idea... maybe once I watch the Harry Potter movies again (it's been like three years lol), I'll just do the video anyways.

And, here's what I think of the Aragog set - I wish it had an exclusive minifigure. I guess Aragog is exclusive technically. But Ron and Harry in these outfits both come in the Hogwarts Express, which is a fair superior set.

For a little set, it is good.

$15 and 20€ sadly :(

It is a great little set, lots of spiders, Aragog look good. To bad they did not include Fang then it would have been perfect, well we still have a fair chance to get him in Hagrid's hut or a cmf in the future..

What is the circle thing at the three base suppose to be?

New spider mold in the set I think

Isn’t it just the mold introduced with the City Jungle theme?

It seems to have a web printed on it and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a flick fire missile.

Yes, but in a new colour brown, black is also new, but we saw that in GH..

That’s fair, give the fans what they want, I must admit you’re my favourite Lego reviewer, especially your throwback videos, any chance of a Throwback Harry Potter set?

Looks like a tiny spiderweb.

Other than fang (who still isn’t a Minifig but oh well) there is kind of no one else Minifigure wise they could add into the scene at least I think, because I also haven’t seen the film in a long time.

IIRC Lucius Malloy, Fudge, Dumbledore and Harris were in the scene prior to the Aragog scene, so I guess it wouldn’t have been too much of a stretch to slip one of them in.

Overall I like the set, Aragog is a good update and there’s a good amount of Spider pieces in here.

I was about to say you were wrong then I remembered they were there to arrest Hagrid, I was thinking of Film 3 when Lucius wasn’t there, but yes, they could’ve easily slid Cornelius Fudge in as a way to get him unless we get him in a ministry set for OotP

The aragog set looks pretty good, this would have been the perfect set to include the Invisibility cloak but eh..

Easy pass for me, getting the Hogwarts express set, so no exclusive minifigures for me and 20€ is a bit too much for my liking.

I think the point was more about exclusive versions of the minifigures that are already in the set.  To do that, they would have had to use more appropriate minifigures in the Hogwarts Express set.  Then both sets would have exclusives.

Looking at Aragog more closely, the building techniques to form is head are quite wonderful. The piece originally used back in the day to attach doc ocks tentacles to has the fangs and some brown attached to to form the mouth, and the eyes/forehead? Folds over this build form the back. Ingenious, really quite something.

Okay, so he is there. But I just never really noticed him. He doesn't really do anything other than accompany Harry and Ron, and the Acromantulas far overshadowed the dog.

I really like this set. No exclusive minifigures, but if someone doesn't have much money, it's a good deal. Aragog is great, cool techniques for eyes and mouth. Forest build is really cool. I love this cool transparent piece with web printing. Plus, we get 5 spiders

Probably more, with lego's habbit lf inclusing spairs.

I agree with most others here about the Aragog set. It's a good little set for what it is, and a nice entry point to the theme.

That said, I personally won't get it because I'll be getting my Rons and Harrys in the two Castle sets revealed so far, but I absolutely don't fault a set that does it's thing perfectly and still doesn't give me any reason to need it. Not every set out there needs exclusive figures, especially when we're talking about drastically different price points.

I really like that Aragog set! That one (along with Quidditch Match) is going to be the first set I get, for reasons I mentioned earlier, so I'm glad it came out looking good! That head construction in particular looks interesting, and I always love getting little trees to add to the forest.

You know, I was about to update the first post with the Aragog set, then I remembered it is a leak hahahaha That was close :look:

...............

I almost wish they had made the forest scene from the first film instead  So we would get Harry, Draco, the cloaked figure, a new unicorn mold (horse body + new unicorn head) and Firenze, the centaur.

Aragog looks nice, but he could have been included in the Briefcase set instead.

This set feels almost redundant, because the scene has been made before and the minifigures are not exclusive.

I absolutely agree with you there. I still stand by my previous sentiment that the set is nice both for what it is and for the target market, but as an adult and someone who has been getting HP Lego since 2001 I do wish they'd based the set off of the scene from the first film and included a centaur. It would've been a lot more expensive, though.

LEGO must really like the Aragog scene given that this is the third Aragog they've made over the years.
