Didumos69 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 1. Fire Ant One-minute pitch With its wacky turning feature and inclined V4 engine, this vehicle is extremely fast and highly manoeuverable. A perfect fit for a race in an urban area. Don't forget this contest is in fact a race held in LEGO City. This race-cart finds its way through the mess created by its large and heavy opponents, without giving in on speed. And like with real ants, a Fire Ant never comes alone. Their determination and willingness to serve fellow ants that stand a better chance to win, will drive other contestants even more nuts than they already are . And to make the ant analogy complete: this model consists of three segments: The head - With its steering controlled head lights pointing into each and every turn, the front section makes sure the driver won't miss a thing and allows him to anticipate unexpected situations. The thorax - The driver section, which tilts in turns, compensates for the centrifugal force the driver is exposed to. An experienced driver can make the car turn by moving his weight into the turn. The abdomen - Equipped with a V4 engine, inclined to ensure optimal lubrication under acceleration g-forces, the rear section gives the car enough power to stay ahead of all of its opponnents. Admit it, you want to ride this animal! Base features Rear wheel drive Working steering wheel Working fake V4 Adjustable rear-spoiler Wacky feature Turning mechanism which offers 4-wheel steering and makes the driver section tilt in turns. It works like this: The driver steers the front section using the steering wheel. Steering the front section makes the driver section tilt, which in turn makes the rear section counter-steer. More qualities High manoeuverability. The turning feature combines excellent road-holding with a very small turning circle. Straight line stability. The front and rear segments are stablized with silicon bands to keep the car straight. Everything in-system. All inclined constructs rely on perfect fits derived from the Pythagorean triple (3, 4, 5). Kid-proof. Each of the three segments has been build with a high level of form-locking. Nothing will fall off. Instructions are available on rebrickable. See this discussion topic for background information. A big thank you to everybody involved in that topic !
doug72 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 (edited) 2. The Boydell Stomper - Mark IV I present my entry for the TC12 Wacky Wheels contest. My “Wacky Wheels” vehicle is based on old technology that used a type of wheel invented by Boydell in 1846 which preceded caterpillar tracks in an attempt to allow heavy traction engines and artillery guns to cross soft ground and the rear wheel steering used on the weirdest tank ever built, the experimental Russian Tsar Tank built in 1914 which was a complete failure !! My wacky wheel vehicle is just as crazy, is surprisingly fast and agile and includes a driver ! These wheels can really wack the ground and opponents. Wacky vehicle is 31L wide x 30L high x 44L long. Powered by an L motor for drive to the Boydell wheels and various other functions. Servo motor for steering. Two PF receivers, V1 for servo motor and V2 for L motor. PF Control:- Two controllers on different channels are used for steering and drive. Wacky Functions:- The “L” motor drives:- 1/. Both Boydell wheels at a 5:1 reduction via a custom built heavy duty differential using a Z60 turntable and three knob gears within a 5 x 7 frame. The differential Z60 gear ring drives via gearing & lay shafts other functions for:- 2/. Working transverse dummy Vee 8 engine with cooling fan and two flaming exhausts. 3/. Rocking motion of Drivers seat up & down which also activates a flashing beacon. 4/. Rotating radar dish with separate PF IR immobilising ray device. 5/. Two contra rotating drills to clear any obstructions 6/. Low level “daisy cutter” with bi-directional cutting blades. 7/. Destructor hubs added to the wheel centres to combat other vehicles. 8/. Wheel feet colour scheme to dazzle opponents as they rotate. 9/. Scary "face" and very noisy to distract opponents. Servo Motor 10/. Steering with angle of turn limited by gearing to 40 degs. left or right. 11/. Remote steering direction indicator (horses head) at front of vehicle. Race Tactics Use radar scanner to seek out opponents and use PF destructor beam to imobilise their PF channels. Deafen them as I come up behind them. Driver then uses his personel protection device to puncture the rubber tires. Eliminate the low profile ground hugging contestents with the daisy cutter then stomp remaining contestents. Front view with Pit Crew at the ready. YouTube video: best with sound full voluume Part 1: - Wheels jacked up on display stand - close up view of wacky functions. Part 2:- Running on a tiled floor - turn up the sound to hear the clatter of feet. Ear defenders required. Part 3:- Running on carpet, a little bit quieter. MangaNOID Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 (edited) 7. Carniveil Carniveil. If a wacky race is all about fun then there should be some carnival rides. And one operated by children (scale dictated children) just can’t be refused! Free sandwiches and free rides for all wacky race entrants on the ‘plunger’ (a turning, gut churning gravity drop) and ‘washing machine’ (just gut churning). From the era of blocky Lego and blocky graphics comes the look of the Carniveil to honour the early nineties wacky wheels. All manual features of the Carniveil include -HOG steering -6cyl engine driven from the driveline at two locations -‘washing machine’ ride driven off the vehicle driveline -‘plunger’ ride driven off the driveline through a double differential, one way output that lets the plunger operate in only one direction regardless of vehicle direction. -‘clothes dryer’ defence operated by 2x Lego string (x77ac50) -adjustable height front seats for carnival mode and race mode. -drivers steering operated by head swivel of driver (attached to HOG and seats) -‘Veil’ mode (fire engine) - clutch switch to disengage plunger for ‘Veil’ mode. My interpretation of the wacky race was like the Mille Miglia or cannonball run where all the race happens with normal citizen activity through Lego City. The idea of the Carniveil is to upset all the tummies of other entrants by supplying food and rides pre-race. Then when the race starts, the Carniveil, having to start at the back of the race so no one sees, transforms into the fire engine and speeds off through the field as all contestants must let emergency vehicles through. Then the ‘clothes dryer’ is deployed once at the front to stop other racers getting by. Don’t try and force your way past or you’ll end up killing children…Which is not in the spirit of a fun wacky race. Edited October 16, 2017 by MangaNOID fixed video link
HorcikDesigns Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 8. Avalunch 2002 (also known as Speedysnow, Avalaunch, and Missing-ski)AVALUNCHAVALUNCH 2002 Functions: Casual: -steering -fake V8 engine -easily accesible snack boxWacky: -"Avalanche" ... dropping snow behind to make road slippery (in best conditions also making snowdrifts -"Snowcannon" throwing snowballs to opponents - it's effectiveness is not very high, but they're annoying and causes concentration loss when they're, for example, under your racing suit. Simple functions for easier operation (by our dumb driver) and less technical issues during the race. Legends say, that this vehicle use liquid nitrogen as fuel. They're false, unleaded Octan(TM) petrol is used. (in case of any doubts, please ask our team's Mechanic)
Leonard Goldstein Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 (edited) 9. Highflyer The Highflyer is a very fast vehicle using 4 L-motors inside some very special single spoked wheels. No gearing, no friction losses. It is completely RC and contains an amazing number of Power Functions and pneumatics: * 4 L-motors (drive) * 4 Extension cables (as the motor cables are not long enough in the wacky position) * 1 Servo (steering with working steering wheel) * 1 XL-motor (compressor) * 1 M-motor (moving the pneumatic valves) * 2 rechargeable battery boxes * 2 IR-receiver * 4 pneumatic cylinders 2x11 for lifting the chassis * 4 pneumatic pumps in the compressor * 2 pneumatic valves But what is the wacky function? With its four pneumatic cylinders it can lift up and increase ground clearance to 17 studs. The Highflyer will pass (overtake) opponents in a unique way. And it can overcome obstacles if there are at least two small tracks left. Normal functions: Rear wheel drive with differential 2-cylinder boxer engine Rear suspension HoG steering, with working steering wheel Wacky function: ROLLOVER ability The car can be overrolled during a bloody race, and it is still a fully functional car! The rolled car looks differently, and the poor opponent does not even realize that the vengeance is coming. Rollcage to protect the driver During rollover, the rollcage flips to the other side of the car, while the seat rotates, to keep the driver's head always up. Custom sticker with rollover ambigram, which can be read upside down too Literally, The Unrollable is a two-sided car Video Edited October 15, 2017 by kodlovag

Aventador2004 Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 13. Dual-Shot mk2 Are you tired of spinning your vehicle, and having to turning around? Are you wanting twin Ion cannons, one each end? Than the Dual-shot is the car for you! This vehicle's backstory is easy, i have a racing wheel, as a extra hobby. When i use it, the Ai characters try and spin me out, and i have to turn the car back around. With Dual-shot, that isn't a problem, and i have cannons to blast them out of my way! Hog (one each end) Dual Ion cannons (hence the name) Electric power (theoretical) Active bumpers (symmetrical) Strong chassis Pop up lights (on steering column) Thanks for reading, now enjoy the pictures and video! Please vote for DualShot! (sorry for horrible video, even on wifi it stinks. Of course I got #13...)
deehtha Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 14. Formula Punch Formula Punch was designed to race, but not against regular race cars. Race against the fringe racers. Race in the Eurobricks Wacky Wheels League, where anything goes. Having had no success in the regular Legoland leagues, the Formula Punch team found the Wacky Wheels League. They modified their car by swapping the pathetic V6 for a massive (yet tiny) V16 and the largest wheels they could mount on the car. After failing to finish their first few races, they made the rear wing as large as possible and made it so it could drop to block missiles from the rear. This led them to finishing their first race, although they were the last to cross the finish line. Next they modified the front wing to have 2 circular blades at the corners. After a few more middle of the pack wins, the extendable side panels were added. Hopefully, they can get a win now. Functions: Rear wheel drive, connected to V16 engine and front blades HoG steering connected to driver's steering Full independent suspension Fully modular, with 11 total modules. Gotta repair quick in the Wacky Wheels League Wacky Functions: Spinning blades on front wing. Connected to rear wheels and engine Rear spoiler drops down to defend against ramming and projectiles Sides extend to bump rivals or make it difficult to pass And finally, the discussion topic:
Erik Leppen Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 15. Arachne Functions The vehicle has 8 bogies with 2 wheels each, totalling 16 wheels that can roll freely. All bogies are always parallel with each other and with the superstructure. Steering works by rotating all bogies simultaniously, along with the superstructure. The wacky function is an ejector seat that launches the driver forward, gaining a small bit of time in the last seconds of the race (and saving the driver in case of emergency). Jim Posted October 15, 2017 Author Posted October 15, 2017 18. Uno's Car: His Fortressness (posted by Jim for @MegaRoi) Since he was a young panda, Uno's destiny was to become the most fearless, fast and famous Wacky Wheels Race Driver of all time. He wants to be on top! The beginning of his career is well known, since you can choose him in the start screen of the original Wacky Wheels game (quite simple, same with the game graphics). But during the races he wasn't too fast. So he changed his cart in later games - as you can see by the different colors - but still wasn't fast enough to really catch the lead in the race. Then Uno decided to build his own Race Cart! Main concept: - 42048 inspired chassis and wheels - HUGE! - POWERFULL! - WEAPONS! - MORE WEAPONS! - And again a new color combination So he came out with a Windtunnel Concept, inspired by the Stipa Caproni Aircraft, which had the correct amount of "Wackyness" to give him the correct advantage over his opponents in a Wacky Wheels Race. "His Fortressness" is not generating a Slipstream, it's blowing the opponents behind it away with it's huge front propeller. Even in corners, where the air blow will be guided by the double rudder. The vehicle is propulsed by two BigBlock V4 engines, which makes it quite fast and while it's rear wheel steered, it's very maneuverable. On the rear wheels are also wheel cutters, to prevent being overtaken. RC functions: - front wheel drive, 1x L motor - same motor turns the front propeller - same motor turns 2 fake V4 engines by chain drive on front axle - rear wheel steering, 1x servo motor - same motor is turning the dual rudder - 1. weapon, bomb layer, 1x M motor, 3 shots - 2. weapon, oil layer, 1x M motor, 3 shots - 3. weapon: double machine gun, 1x L motor, 2x5=10 shots - 4. weapon: double booster, 1x L motor Manual functions: - On/Off switch on front - laser shots, LEGO, 2 shots - LEGO Duplo Panda removable - shovel, broom and tools removable And the video: And the link to the entry topic:

Charbel Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 20. The Mean Machine This is my participation to the TC12 contest ! I was definitely not planning to participate but as I was looking for some ideas across Google Images, I saw the Mean Machine and instantly saw a possible use of the 42069 wheel arches. So it all started with these wheel arches and adapted the scale to it. There is obviously propulsion and direction with a removable HoG. So let me introduce you the wacky fonction : folding propellers to fly over the other participants !
Marxpek Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 21. Baby Bomber Buggy Do not be fooled by it's cuteness, this baby is out to get you! Full RC driving and 2 RC special attacks: 1: Baby Brick Blaster: a high powered remote triggered shotgun with 10 shots. 2: Baby Brick Bomb: dump the entire tub onto the track or enemies by remote, creating mayhem with an obstacle which can still fire by remote control. Also reducing about 70% of it's weight, increasing it's racing capabilities.

MattL600 Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 24. Scorpion R5 Functions Everything is RC (except for scissor jaws which is rubber band powered) Wacky function? A giant grapple gun (UNLIMITED AMMO NYEH) Front scissor jaws which when bumped will snap into the vehicle that bumped it. After this is done the jaws will stay as a large frontal spike that you can ram into your opponents. Four wheel drive Front wheel steering All wheels are suspended Grapple gun has one motor that will let the dragon actually ‘eat’ the harpoon only it unleash it’s fury One cannon motor reels in the string and also unreels it while the other motor helps it so that the string won't curl inside Elevating grapple hook that also controls the spoiler. When the gun is pointed straight forwards the spoiler is up to increase driving performance, when the gun is using artillery mode the spoiler will form mudguards which will help stabilize the gun. Sliding cockpit roof The Scorpion R5 was initially a prototype racecar that was kept in a museum until the start of WW3 where the military decided to ‘borrow’ the vehicle. They moved the rear engine to the left cockpit so that they could install a hydraulic arm in its place which would hold a massive cannon from an anti tank gun that they later converted into a grappling gun. After the end of WW3 the military was no longer interested and decided to scrap the project and had it sold at an auction. The winner was a Chinese billionaire who had the rear cannon converted into a cannon as well as installing scissor jaws on the front of the vehicle. The billionaire finally decided that he would enter the Eurobricks wacky wheels race in hope for prizes, glory and fame! Scorpion's Racing tactics (Why the Scorpion R5 would win wacky wheels) Grapple and Cut Combo The scorpion grapples onto the vehicle and pulls it into it's blades which would destroy the other racer. Speed Leech Grapple the hook onto a faster vehicle and use their speed to your advantage, when finished use the Grapple and cut Combo to finish them off Blade Ram Ram into the enemy with your blades, destroying them Cannon spam Use your grapple gun to destroy the enemy shot after shot Artillery!!! Upgrade the string length. Camp at base and set the Scorpion on Arty mode. Destroy the enemy from far far away... Race cleanly Okay? I suppose? Scare them with your giant dragon Wow okay... Video: And finally, the discussion topic ;) Thanks for reading :D Scorpion R5 for president! (lol) Good luck everyone :)
