dathil Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Davok: "Long before the rise of Raavage, in the days after Revolword's defeat, a messenger arrived at the Bull's Eye, in these days not more than a mere outpost for our compagny" Bull's Eye by David de Rijke, on Flickr "The messenger, no one remembers anything of what he looked like, demanded to speak with the present highest in rank, which happend to be the Bull's second in command, me. It appeared to be confidential, so we sat together in the higher room of the tower" Bull's Eye by David de Rijke, on Flickr "To make a long story short: Some high guy wanted to hire us. The messenger seemed to say 'Victor' at a given point, but stopped abrupt and looked scared for a moment. Well, to the point. Our mission: Falconstone to the south gave hospitality to a stranger that was brought there under heavy escort. They seem to not know the danger of this man. Our client told us how this man has escaped the sack of the Dark Wizard's, and that he is a dangerous wizard himself. Those falcons wouldn't believe us, I can tell in advance. They never have been keen to see logic... We have to siege Falconstone, and kill this man. The reward? Bigger than you can ever dream off." Bull's Eye by David de Rijke, on Flickr Bull's Eye by David de Rijke, on Flickr (Here we go... A long way to go, and the story is already paving its path in my mind. Where this will end, I don't know :D) (This is a quite old build, and I have great news: got a new camera and new adjustments to my room that will be used for my next build :D) (The guy with the kanjiclub torso is the younger version of my sigfig, Davok ^^) (oh my god... while trying to play with revolword's name, I discovered its origin ONLY NOW... quite a slow catch) Quote
Alfadas Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Very nice MOC! Really love the snow on the rocks! And the ?old grey? looks really good in the walls. Overall a very cool build! Quote

Henjin_Quilones Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I like the use of the ball joint sockets on the tower, and the tower as a whole. Your use of BURPs for the cliffs is nicely masked with additional dark grey and snow, creating a typically Mitgardian scene. I think it would look better with a different treatment for the water, as the baseplate is a little too studdy, but it still works. Nicely done! Quote
TitusV Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Nice build! I really like the tower, but the rockwork is nice as well. And great to hear you have a new camera Quote
Merc4Hire Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 This is a sweet build! I also like the tower and the bottom water/rock section adds very nice variation to the scene. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Wow, beautiful winter scene! The snow and the sea are epic together Quote
LittleJohn Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Excellent work, dathil! The stone texturing, rockwork and snow are very well done, and the sand green/RB sections add some nice color to the build Very creative use of mixel joints too Quote

I'm gonna try some method on cleaning it, and otherwise I will have filler material ^^ On 21-1-2017 at 10:44 PM, Henjin_Quilones said: I like the use of the ball joint sockets on the tower, and the tower as a whole. Thanks! the ball joints were a tryout from a few loose pieces I achieved at Lego World. I am still working on the technique because I really like the look of them. My next build uses more of them :D For the water I originally wanted to add trans-clear pieces, but I did not make it with the parts I had. Also I liked this color! I try to include some water in almost every of my builds ^^ 15 hours ago, LEGO Train 12 Volts said: Wow, beautiful winter scene! The snow and the sea are epic together Thank you! The snow technique is quite borrowed from SK though, I gained a lot of these pieces through a lucky PaB 3 hours ago, LittleJohn said: Excellent work, dathil! halixon Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 That tower is amazing. Love the detail on it. Quote
Grover Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 I like the texture and the feel of the piece! The color scheme works well for the northern, snowy lands, I think. I like the story, too, great job! Quote
Blufiji Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Though I am not a fan of the BURPS, I am a fan of the hints of sand green in the tower, as wellas the snow layering. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Great Mitgardian outpost! The ball joint use is really neat in the stonework Wonderful wintry landscape with the rocks, snow, and tree too And the winding path up from the dock works nicely Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 The contrast between the wooden (I presume) and stone sections is great! Quote
