I was talking about ice. It's what ice people are made of. It's hard. And cold. What did you think I was talking about??

Banana Man without printing on the Banana.

I prefer Banana Man without the printing. I generally don't like stickers but on this occasion I think they should have used one. It would give you the option of using it or not, and if you did choose to use it, it would be most appropriate. After all, bananas often really do have a sticker on them. There's irony in printing being used to represent a sticker.

You could probably contact customer service and have the part replaced.

They would send a random sealed minifigure.

Agreed. Especially in light of all of the discussions about stickers vs printing.

Maybe this is just an error on my fig, but with the dual molded legs on the hiker guy..one leg is slightly (very slightly) shorter than the other. But when you place it on the place tile and look at it, there's a small gap so he's not perfectly flat. I never thought about it before but could that be an issue with dual molding the legs?

What do you think, done up like the Ice Queen, or all trans-blue like the frozen bits used in Chima?

I'm thinking either would be good. But the flesh tone of the Queen with transblue armor would be cool.

Bummed out that CMF's at local TRU was picked over after only being on the pegs a few hours. No banana guy. The icing on the cake was finding 2 babysitters, but leaving one. I get home, daughter opens pack, and infant's head print is upside down.

I don't know, but perhaps it would depend on how you framed the issue. If you just say there was an issue with a CMF, then they might send a random replacement. But that part is used in the Fun in the Park set, so they should have access to the piece for replacement services. There's really only one way to find out, and that's to give them a ring and see what they say. Or you could use the replacement parts section of the website. I'm not a fan of people who abuse that service, but there WAS a problem with that particular piece, and in my mind, it would be justified, regardless of whether or not you have the Fun in the Park set. YMMV.

I believe you buy I'd like to see a picture of that :classic:

While we all sympathize, I think we would all like to see that picture as well :classic:

Hadn't considered that. Very good point.

Well, you could always grab a real sticker from a banana and put it on the fake sticker :-)

Put the skates on either end of a 3 long bar, attach a 1x1 tile with clip to the middle, attach a neck bracket to the clip, and put it on the neck of the Penguin Kiddo, he'll be able to fly.

Place a black 2x1 jumper plate on a minifigure baseplate and put the Penguin Boy on top of that. The height disparity isn't as notice able since he has short legs...

"Arabian Knight" and "Serenader" are now gone from the CMF site.

I think this is the first time we see alternative names for the characters.

The weird part is... "Arabian Knight" was the leaked name months ago for the Desert Warrior.

What's wrong with the names Arabian Knight and Serenader?

I don't know the definitive answer, but here's some speculation about why TLG changed those names:

  • It could be as simple as which names were more effective marketing-wise. It's possible that TLG did some market research in English-speaking countries (or more specifically, the US) and found that kids wanted minifigures called Desert Warrior and Mariachi more. Maybe (US) kids didn't know what serenader meant, but knew what mariachi was. The early release of S16 in the US may have caught TLG's marketers out. Maybe they weren't expecting to have to finalise the names until later.
  • It could be because of IP, that is, that those names infringe or risk infringing someone else's intellectual property.
  • It could be for political reasons. TLG may have decided that singling out one ethno-linguistic group in the case of the Arabian Knight and whitewashing the Mariachi to make him seem less Mexican were not in keeping with the company's politics.
  • Possibly TLG wanted to use the Arabian Knight and Serenader names for other products, maybe even future CMFs, so had to find alternatives for the S16 minifigures.

Personally, I prefer Arabian Knight and Mariachi (and Teen Mum for the Babysitter).

Does anyone have a good way to display the Penguin Kid with skates?

He stands up just fine with the skates. Or are you talking about a way that will make so you can move him without him toppling over like he was connected to his base plate?

Political reasons. Lego usually avoids using nationalities for CMF names. I wasn't really surprised when I found out Arabian Knight isn't his actual name.

Couple of quick questions:

1) Are you opposed to using additional parts?

2) Are you opposed to rotating the display base 90 degrees (so that the shorter sides are front/back)?
