Logan McOwen Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) GORUK, MASTER OF IRON No aspect of Goruk could be described as weak. His bulky body, strong will and incredible intellect are second to none. With his Mask of Titanium, Goruk chooses not to use weaponry himself, instead relying on his brute strength to use his enemy's powers or environment against them. However, Goruk considers violence to be something of the past, and prefers to live at peace, high up in the peaks above Okoto. He considers himself a keen astronomer, gazing up at the stars through his telescope and admiring worlds beyond that of Okoto. Goruk is based upon a totally custom, Technic-based torso frame, which integrates a bespoke gearbox to swivel his waist. I previously used this hand design in a revamp of Rocka XL. The torso shell is from a third party set from the "Fusion Warriors" line, which is usually marketed as "Space Tutelary". Pate-keetongu Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Nice stout design, looks especially good on the first pose. Nice use of Vader's chest armor. Quote
Kalhiki Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Using Knock-off Hero Factory torso armor, I see ;) Anywho, very nice design. Love how stout and solid he is. Especially in the torso. Just looks so strong and filled in so nicely. Quote
Logan McOwen Posted December 10, 2015 Author Posted December 10, 2015 Nice stout design, looks especially good on the first pose. Nice use of Vader's chest armor. Many thanks :) I went for Vader's chestplate, as it kinda carries on the striped texture on the addons over his hips and shoulders. Indeed, I'm a naughty boy~ Thank you! He's certainly quite a break away from my usual Toa/Humanoid builds, which is refreshing. Quote
bidiminished Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 The legs are short to the point where it is abnormal (from what I counted, 11M legs with a 13M torso+head). There isn't anything wrong with that, as Bionicle sets and MOCs tend to have odd/exaggerated proportions, but it's just unusual because most sets and MOCs have the legs being longer than normal.. It could just be the poses and bulk that makes it look odd Quote

It could just be the poses and bulk that makes it look odd In human biology, the legs and arms are generally the same length. This is why it's so peculiar that Bionicle figures (and other things like Japanese mecha) have longer legs. But, for some reason, it's not too unbearable. I guess you're just used to the legs being longer on than the arms Bionicle figures. However, your critique is noted. Quote

TFGuy89 Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 (edited) I love the proportions and the stocky look. I thought the use of Hordika necks for fingers is brilliant and gives it great shape. Edited December 22, 2015 by TFGuy89 Quote

Thank you! Yes, I too am fond of using those parts as fingers. A lot nicer than the Metrutoran limbs Axonn used. Quote
Anthony12901 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Even with the close up, i don't get how you made the fingers (since I'm new to Bionicle MOCing, but used to HF). Could you show or tell me? Quote

Classic "Hordika necks" in sockets type of fingers. The old 2006 Bionicle set, Axxon, used a similar build. Quote

Junior Shark Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 This is so cool! Slap on a Rode, give him a big ol' axe, and he's a CCBS Axonn. Quote
